Good morning!! I was up a bit early so I thought I’d check out this week’s sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

When I first saw the Pick a Petal set, I really liked it. I still do, but it isn’t “wowing” me like I expected. Maybe it will grow on me.

I used Blue Bayou and Purely Pomegranate to stamp the petals. I didn’t like how bold the Pomegranate was with the background textures so I inked the petal, stamped onto the retired Just Jeans background stamp, laid a strip of white cardstock over the inked areas and pressed with my fingers. I tried stamping off onto the Jeans stamp and then onto paper but I didn’t get the denim pattern doing it that way.

I trimmed and assembled the petals by placing a bit of adhesive on the back of each point then used my “anywhere” punch to make the hole for the eyelet. Unfortunately my Crop-a-dile wouldn’t reach into the center, so I had to bang the eyelet to set it. (I’d LOVE a Crop-a-dile with a longer reach!) The flower panel is mounted to the card using dimensionals. (I certainly use a lot of those!)

This is super cute, M! Did you have to “HUFF” (lol) the ink on the bg stamp before you pressed the paper to it? I love how it matches the texture of paisley!!

Wow, Michele! I love the soft cloth-looking texture of all your stamping! Looks like really well-worn jeans. Dang, I love the flower done this way! Super DUPER cute!

I love this card! I am hoping to get this set too, and this card really sells me on it. I love the patterns and the new colors go well together!
