Headless Haunting and WOOHOO!

Published by Shel9999 at 3:34 am under My Designs, My Favorite Things

I’ve been having so much fun playing with my new sets from My Favorite Things, I had to get more.  I got this crazy idea for the dogs from Let’s Take a Walk and I could get nothing else accomplished until this was out of my head.

Headless HauntingI stamped the image (sans heads) using Brilliance Black Graphite, my favorite new black ink.  I watercolored with ink from the stamp pad lids (I have GOT to get some of those Copic markers…they’re on my wish list) and drew in the border with a black marker.  After paperpiecing the dress, all I could think was that if this chick were real, she’d be asking, “Does this dress make my butt look big?”  Not a good pattern for her. lol.

I just bought this incredible ribbon from my good buddy, Jacksonbelle’s store.  It’s satin, black on one side and orange on the other.  Perfect for Halloween!!!

I stamped the hissing cat then cut it out, using an X-acto knife to remove the area between its legs.  It’s mounted on a tiny piece of a dimensional.

A couple days ago, Anni asked how I am able to cut with such detail.  I just use a very sharp pair of Cutter Bee scissors I picked up at my local craft store.  They’re about $10, and you can use one of those handy 40% off coupons from the Sunday paper.  I only use an X-acto knife to cut out areas I can’t reach with the scissors, i.e. the space inside the cats legs.  I don’t like to use an X-acto knife unless I have to.  It’s harder for me to get a smoothly cut edge and too easy to make a mistake.   Thanks for the question!

I hope you all aren’t sick of my weird cards because Kim from MFT asked me to be on her design team!  I’m so excited and can’t wait to work more closely with her and her awesome team!! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Heeeheee, Michele, you have such a great sense of design and humor! Thanks for an early morning chuckle. Great card, BTW, and how could any of us tire of seeing anything you create - it’s all wonderful! I just bought 4 Copic pens yesterday - Trudee and Debbie are SUCH enablers!!! But the pens are super and when Ellen Hutson gets them in her store I plan to get a set. I’m not fond of using an Xacto Knife either.
