Friends and Coffee…what could be better?

Published by Shel9999 at 4:40 am under My Designs, My Favorite Things

Coffee1I made this for a friend I don’t get to see much… actually, I’ve only seen her once.  But how nice it would be to sit and chat with her while enjoying our lattes.

I think this is one of the cutest sets from My Favorite Things…”Hot Stuff”.  I love the little swirls of steam rising outside of the box.

For this card, I stamped the lady three times, once onto the patterned paper and twice onto vanilla cardstock.  I colored the mug on the first vanilla image, cut out the dress from the patterned paper and adhered it to the same vanilla image.  On the extra image, I colored and cut out the arms, then attached them to the first image.  I stamped the beans separately, coloring, cutting them out and attaching in the corner.

I didn’t have any matching ribbons, eyelets or brads so I made my own “rivet-type” things.  I punched the center hole (1/4″) from the darker green paper then used a 1/2″ punch, centering the 1/4″ hole, to punch the “rivet.”  I then punched a 1/2″ circle from the lighter green and adhered that beneath the darker green.

The inside of the card reads “The perfect blend.”  I think I’ll include a small gift card, enough for a Grande Vanilla Latte, no fat, light whip…or something similar. ;)

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

p.s.  I’ll be working on more SU designs as soon as I get my order!

Beautiful written; cute card. I especially love the coffee beans in the corner - such a nice touch. I agree, for me this set was too good to pass up; it was my first purchase of MFT stamps and I’m sure it won’t be my last, but this one said it all for me and my GFs who love to sit and chat with a cup of joe. TFS!
