Webster’s Goes Western

Published by Shel9999 under My Designs, Stampin' Up!

Warm Wishes

While I (impatiently) await my holiday pre-order, I thought I’d use one of my favorite new patterned papers, Webster’s Pages.  As I mentioned before, I came across this gorgeous heavyweight paper at CHA.  Terri Conrad is the artist behind the designs and she is just as sweet as she is talented.

This particular pattern is from her “Parlor Collection.”  (My absolute favorite though is the CoCo Collection…Chocolate Souffle, Graham Cracker, Fresh Baked…yum!)  You can find the entire line here.  I think Lindsey ordered just about everything they had!

I stamped the horse first in Chocolate Chip then decided it wasn’t quite right.  So I stamped it again (on another piece of cardstock) in Really Rust.  Still not right.  Third time’s a charm…I inked the stamp with Really Rust, then put the inked stamp onto my Chocolate Chip pad and WA-LA!  I was happy!  (But I do believe that horse is sticking out his tongue!)

I had to add the three brads at the bottom because first of all I thought the card still needed something, but secondly, it’s for a brad-crazed gal so I had to use at least a few.  (I hope she likes it.)

Be sure to come back tomorrow.  Let’s hear it for my first give-away!! (That was a clue!) :)

Cardstock:  Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla     Patterned Paper:  Webster’s Pages Parlor Collection “Southern Comfort”     Stamps:  Wanted, Baroque Motifs, Hugs & Wishes     Ink:  Really Rust, Chocolate Chip     Accessories:  Antique brass hodgepodge, mat pack/needle, Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write marker, sponge, ribbon (MME Wild Asparagus), hemp.  All supplies Stampin’ Up!  Finished card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.

Happy Birthday/Happy Color Combo

HB LAZ Today’s color challenge on SCS is to use Blue Bayou, Soft Sky and Cameo Coral… another surprise color combo!  I don’t think I’d ever have thought to combine these colors, but I like them!

I need quite a few birthday cards this month so I thought I’d take advantage of every opportunity to make one.

For this card, I used Blissful Blossoms by Lizzie Anne Designs.  Such a fun set!  One of my flowers is so happy it’s jumping out of the ground. lol.  Oh well.  I didn’t have time to start over.

I stamped the biggest blossom and the bee a second time onto Papertrey Ink white cardstock, colored and cut them out.  After adhering to the card front with dimensionals, I bent the bees wings and the flower petals a bit for just a tad more interest.

If you’re a fan of Lizzie Anne Designs, be sure to check out Lindsey’s blog!  She’s having a contest with awesome prizes!  You have until August 15th to participate!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Thanks to you, Friend!

Published by Shel9999 under My Designs, My Favorite Things

TYF2Here’s a bit of a twist on the Back to School set from My Favorite Things.  I thought this would work well as a thank you for a business associate/friend.

The patterned  papers are from Basic Grey’s Perhaps paper pad.  For the suits, I paper pieced from the fabric-looking solid “prints.” The buckle is also from Basic Grey.  I used SU’s ticket corner punch on the corners.  The blocks just looked a little plain with square corners.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Sassy Sayings, and I did my little switch-a-roo arm trick. :)

This is such a fun set!  So many different looks!

 Thanks for stopping by! :)

Cardstock:  Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla     Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey Perhaps paper pad     Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Back to School” and “Sassy Sayings”     Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, Creamy Caramel    Accessories:  Burgundy grosgrain, Basic Grey buckle, Antique Brass Hodgepodge brads, ticket corner punch, dimensionals.   All supplies Stampin’ Up! unless otherwise noted.  Finished card size 5” x 5”.

My Long Lost Moose :(

Published by Shel9999 under My Designs, Stampin' Up!

Moose You

This was my swap card for Jami’s New Stamp Set swap. I say “was” because the USPS managed to lose the box and my eleven cards, return postage and a gift for Jami are somewhere betweeen here and California.  I felt badly enough that my time and supplies were wasted, but I feel even worse that others are now getting slighted because of the loss.  Nothing to be done though, I suppose.  I allowed plenty of time for the package to arrive.

I used Chocolate Chip for my base (no shock there, eh?), using the same color ink and Canvas for the background. The patterned paper is from SU’s new Outlaw dsp.  All edges (except the horizontal strip) are sponged, and I added the three little knots of linen thread, using the mat pack to evenly space the stitches.

I keep hoping that sometime soon my box will appear and I’ll be able to get the cards to those in my swap group.  But if not….I’m sorry! :(

Cardstock:  Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla     Patterned Paper:    Outlaw designer series paper     Stamps: Moose You, Canvas   Ink:  Chocolate Chip     Accessories:  Mat pack/needle, linen thread, sponge.  All supplies Stampin’ Up!   Finished card size: 5 ½” x 4 ¼”

New MFT Releases Available TODAY!!

Published by Shel9999 under My Designs, My Favorite Things

Today four new releases are available from My Favorite ThingsBack to School, Home for the Holidays, Let’s Hear it for the Boys and It’s Elemental.  Also, MFT is offering FREE SHIPPING to US customers (with reduced shipping internationally) today and tomorrow (8/1-8/2)!!!!  Can’t beat that!

Love You

My first sample is from It’s Elemental.  I love this set because it has four sizes of “ric rac”, a few different “stitch” borders, corners, swirls, buttons, a leaf, a couple flowers…lots of possibilities.

Here, I used the row of x’s to  make a border of cross-stitches around the distressed edge of the background.  For the little tree with birds, I used my markers to color directly onto the stamp.  The ink was pooling on the stamp (check out the birds), but I liked this effect with this card.  The sentiment is pieced from Home for the Holidays.

Cardstock:  Very Vanilla     Patterned Paper:  MME Signature Life “Love” Heart Imprints/Tickled Pink Paper     Stamps: My Favorite Things It’s Elemental, Home for the Holidays     Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Really Rust     Accessories:  Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy Stampin’ Write Markers, large oval punch, ribbon (Recollections), edge distresser, sponge, antique copper brads (Making Memories)

  Peace & Love

Home for the Holidays comes with 26 stamps in the set!  Wow!  Here, I used the stem of greenery to make the wreath.  Using a pencil, I lightly traced a circle onto my paper, then randomly stamped the stem.  The shiny red berries were made using a red Stardust Gelly Roll pen.  The patterned paper is a new holiday line from Cosmo Cricket, Be Good.  I’m sure you can’t tell in the photo, but the red (which is the reverse side of the print) has a shimmery sheen to it.  I LOVE this paper!!

Cardstock:  Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla     Patterned Paper:  Cosmo Cricket Be Good: Believe     Stamps: My Favorite Things Home for the Holidays     Ink:  Always Artichoke, Brilliance Graphite Black, Ranger Walnut Distress    Accessories:  Karen Foster thumbtack brads, red Stardust gelly roll pen, gold cord, edge distresser, sponge

HB Fish

This card uses Let’s Hear it for the Boys.  I decided to keep this one simple.  I stamped the fish plaque, colored and cut out the fish and “hung” them on the string, tying them through the big eyelets.  I pieced together the sentiment from the many words that come with the set.  I have a couple more ideas for this one, so please check back later!  Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to check out this great new sets (here)!!!

Cardstock:  Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla     Patterned Paper:  My Mind’s Eye Wild Asparagus “Friends” Stripe and Dots     Stamps: My Favorite Things Let’s Hear it for the Boys     Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Brilliance Graphite Black    Accessories:  Antique copper extra large eyelets (We R Memory Keepers), white string, mat pack/needle, Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write marker, dimensional
