Sneak Peek #3…Lulu and her New Friend

Published by Michele Boyer under C.C. Designs, My Designs

NDSD2Here is Sneek Peek #3 of C.C. Designs’ new Winter Playtime set (available December 7th from All That Scraps).  Here Lulu is building a new snow buddy.  I like how she’s still holding the other arm!  :)

I paper-pieced her snowsuit, coloring in the trim with a white gel pen.  I added the snowflake brad as an afterthought and wish I hadn’t stamped all those snowflakes…or at least the one in the corner close to the brad. Oh well…  The snowman is raised on dimensionals and I used a red 3-d gel pen for his buttons and a black one for his eyes (Lulu’s too)!

I struggled a bit with a layout for this card, but decided in the end not to cover too much of the patterned paper.  It’s one of my favorites from Daisy D’s.

Don’t forget about the All That Scraps design team call!  The deadline to apply is December 2nd (details here)!

Thanks for looking! Have a great day!!

Happy Winter Penguins and a DT Call!

Published by Michele Boyer under C.C. Designs, My Designs

HP460I know I said yesterday that I’d have a Lulu sample for you, but I decided to sneak this little penguin card in first.  This little guy is also part of the Winter Playtime set by C.C. Designs to be released Dec. 7th from All That Scraps.  He’s so cute! And he fits right in with Lucky and Lulu!

I added some Stardust Stickles to the snowflakes, ground and ear muffs for some snowy sparkle.  The focal image panel is raised on dimensionals, as is the center penguin.

Did you know that All That Scraps is looking for six new design team members?  The deadline to apply is December 2nd!  Click here for the details.

Thanks for stopping by!  You’ll definately see Lulu tomorrow!!  Have a great day!

Just flying by…with a sneak peek!

Published by Michele Boyer under C.C. Designs, My Designs

JFB

Lucky’s back and he’s having a great time!!

On December 7th, C.C. Designs will release another Lucky/Lulu Little Bit Kit called Winter Playtime (available from All That Scraps). The images are adorable!  Lucky is sledding, Lulu has a snowman friend, and there’s a darling little penguin!  (AND there’s a second new penguin set…but I don’t have it quite yet.)

The sentiment here is another new release, sold separately as a Little Singe Bit, “Wintertime Hi.”

It doesn’t show very well (or at all) in the photo, but I used a glitter pen to add some snowy highlights on the ground and tiny dots in the air.  And I sponged white craft ink on the edges of the red to soften the color a bit.

Thanks for stopping by!  Next up…a Lulu sample!  Have a great day!

You Are So Wise

Published by Michele Boyer under My Designs

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a very nice Thanksgiving!!  We had a huge, yummy feast…way too much food, but it was OH-SO good!!

I’m not quite back to normal (as in I still have no voice whatsoever and this annoying asthma-like cough sometimes) but I’m definately feeling better.  Thanks again for all the well wishes!!!

YASW475

I’ve had this cute little Sassafras Lass Oliver & Friends clear stamp set lying around waiting to be inked and last night I finally had a chance to play.  You’ll be seeing more of these for sure!  I love them!

For this one I was able to stamp the branch first, then the little owl.  (Some owls in the set will need to be stamped first then masked before stamping the branch.)  I colored the branch and flowers with Copics, stamped the owl in Chocolate Chip and did a bit of outlining with a Copic gray marker.

The little “brads” in the corner are self-adhesive.  I must get more the next time I’m at my non-so-local stamp store.  They’re very cool!

Patterned paper is from the Piggy Tales “Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater” Collection available from All That Scraps.  I just love that entire line!  The gold-ish paper is Avana Exclusive Prism, my first time using Prism paper and I’m making a mental note to get more.  It has a great texture, nice heavy weight and incredible color.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hi.

Published by Michele Boyer under This and That

Sorry for the lag in posts here.  I have been terribly sick with bronchitis.  After an anitibiotic injection and three prescriptions, I do feel a little better, but I’m still coughing so much my stomach muscles are aching.  I had to call the doctor for a stronger cough medication this afternoon (and you know what that means…more lying down.  It doesn’t allow much of a choice.)   Hopefully, tomorrow I will feel better.  Thanks for checking back.  I hope to have something for you to see soon!

Lucky’s Sketch

Published by Michele Boyer under C.C. Designs, My Designs

MCL1I started making this card Tuesday night, set it aside, and in the morning saw the sketch challenge at SCS and decided that sketch would work just fine!  I don’t always have time to participate in the challenges, but the sketch is my favorite (because I often feel “layout-challenged”).

I used my favorite new C.C. Designs stamps here (from All That Scraps), “Lucky’s Christmas Wish“.  I colored Lucky with Copic markers, then stamped the trees on a solid green paper from Basic Grey’s Figgy paper pad.  I cut them out, added the little copper lights with a glitter pen and attached the trees to the white panel (also from Figgy).  Two of the trees are popped up for added dimension.  There is more Fun Flock on the hat and I added copper brads in the centers of the top and bottom rows of candies.

Thanks for looking!  Have a great day!

Cardstock:  Chocolate Chip     Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey Figgy     Stamps:  C.C. Designs “Lucky’s Christmas Wish”     Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black     Accessories:  Copic markers, Stampendous Fun Flock, Sakura 3-d black gel pen, Sakura copper Stardust pen, black SU marker, copper brads, white gel pen, dimensionals.   Finished card size 5” x 5”.

Peaceful Snowmen

Published by Michele Boyer under My Designs

PFSMI’ve been pretty busy working on some things I can’t share for a while, so I thought I’d post one of my favorite snowmen images! This one is called “Snow Family” by Alesa Baker for Impression Obsession.

I watercolored this image once before in this same way on a card for the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen.  I just really liked the colors so I repeated them.

I used a two-way glue pen to add the Dazzling Diamonds glitter, the main image is raised on dimensionals and the word “Peace” is a rub-on.    It’s actually a pretty simple and quick card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving

Published by Michele Boyer under My Designs, Stampin' Up!

HTPGood morning!  I don’t have a card to celebrate Veteran’s Day, but  I would just like to mention our veterans today and send out a big thanks and big hugs to them for  their dedication to our country!!

This was one of the cards we made at my last workshop.  It’s a lot like the Happy Pumpkins, but without the faces (ha!).

I love watercoloring these sketchy images on watercolor paper. It’s so forgiving and easy to shade.

To make the little curlies, I just wrapped a very thin strip of cardstock around my needle, then glued the top ends and placed a tiny dot of glue at the other end so the cardstock wouldn’t unwind.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Cardstock:  Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Garden Green, watercolor paper     Patterned Paper:  Apple Cider DS paper     Stamps:  Autumn Harvest, Canvas     Ink:  Stazon Black, SU Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, Summer Sun, Close to Cocoa, Olive Green     Accessories:  Jumbo Pewter eyelets, hemp, mat pack/needle, Chocolate Chip marker, dimensionals, water brush, sponge.  Finished card size 5 ½”x 4 ¼”.

Joyful Websters-A Product Spotlight

Published by Michele Boyer under Inkadinkado, My Designs

JW2Happy Sunday!  I hope you’re all having a great weekend!

In case you haven’t been there yet, Jacksonbelle Embellishments has it’s own forum over at SCS where Lindsey shares what’s coming to her store, answers questions, lists sales, contest info, etc.  You never know what might be going on over there (but I can assure you, there is *always* a lot of enabling)!!  You can check it out here

This month Jacksonbelle Embellishments’ product spotlight is on Webster’s Pages Christmas collections designed by Terri Conrad (who, by the way, is having a 12-day giveaway beginning Monday, November 12th!).

For this card, I chose my (current) favorite combo of Webster’s Christmas designs, “Mistletoe Kisses” and “Candy Cane.” If you check out these designs in Lindsey’s store, you HAVE to click on the thumbnails to see just how gorgeous these papers are!

I couldn’t believe how quickly this card came together for me (that NEVER happens)! But with the one-color stamped image (one of my Inka faves!) and that fabulous paper, it was a snap!

One more bit of info…if you haven’t already done so, pop on over to Julia’s blog.  She’s having a great giveaway too!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Merci!

Merci

I’ve been playin’ with the pooch! lol.  I’m not a fan of poodles, but I do think this little guy is kind of cute.  He’s from the Ooh La La! set by Lizzie Anne Designs

I must say I *heart* this We R Memory Keepers Precious Metal patterned paper.  WOWEE!!  I used the Vintage Brass line on this card.  (And the Coppered Out is sa-weet!!!!!  It has a lot of dark brown…my fave!)

Anyway, I thought this little guy would go well with the paisley and that fancy ribbon from Jacksonbelle Embellishments

I stamped the frame, then masked off the bottom and used the top of the little building stamp for the cushion the pup is standing on.  There are dimensionals between the stamped image and the green mat and behind the mat as well.  The card base is vanilla.  (I just covered the front with the back/solid side of one of the patterned papers.)

More of this set later!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Cardstock:  Very Vanilla     Patterned Paper:  We R Memory Keepers Precious Metal Vintage Brass “Crush” and “Picket”     Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “Ooh La La!”     Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black     Accessories:  Copic markers, Karen Foster thumbtack brads, ribbon, mat pack/needle, Close to Cocoa marker, dimensionals.  Finished card size 4 ¼” x 4 ¼”.
