Emboss it, Baby!

Published by Michele Boyer at 10:05 am under Inkadinkado, My Designs

GWSIRWhew! The week is almost over already.  Where does the time go?

Today’s WT challenge at SCS is to use embossing powder.  My card was not only inspired by the challenge, but by Julia (our “WT” hostess), herself.  I love how she incorporates stitching and Primas into her designs.

For this card, I used black craft ink to stamp the Inkadinkado bird image* directly onto the patterned paper, then I embossed the entire thing with clear EP.   The sentiment is embossed as well.   I used SU’s Floral background on the burgundy block under the focal image, but it’s hard to see.

Once I added the Prima, it looked a little too “pure” for this card, so I lightly sponged the edges with Ranger Walnut Distress Ink.  (It’s my favorite for making things look “dirty.”)  The ribbon is from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.

Lastly I added the stitching and sponged some of the edges with the distress ink.

Thanks for looking!  Have a great day!

*ETA:  The Inkadinkado “Birds Galore” and “Garden Flowers” sets are available at Archivers.
