Get Well Thoughts

Published by Shel9999 at 7:58 am under Cornish Heritage Farms, My Designs

Good morning!  I had a very busy day yesterday, but today is all mine!  Well, it is after I run a few errands.  But first I wanted to share this card.  I made it for the mom of a fellow design team member.  It’s hard for me to make a card for someone I don’t know.  I don’t know her style or favorite colors, likes or dislikes.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at this and wondered if I should add more…or move or redo something…use different stamps.  I guess I tend to over-think things when I don’t know much about the recipient.  Hopefully this will cheer her even if just a tiny bit.

Thinking of You

TOYJM

I used the new Afternoon Tea designer paper from Stampin’ Up’s Occasions mini catalog.  I have to say I love every pattern in that package.  (Most times I only like about half and the rest ends up contributing to my ridiculously huge stack of patterned papers until I force myself to use them or give them away.)  But I’m certain you’ll be seeing the other Afternoon Tea patterns soon.  They’re gorgeous (at least *I* think so.)

Totally inspired by the paper, I used flowers from Silhouette Blooms I by Cornish Heritage Farms.  I used markers, coloring directly onto the rubber.  I thought about sponging the edges of the focal piece but opted instead for the scattered faux stitches.  I faux stitched around the edges of the patterned paper and adhered that piece to a block of the brown patterned paper cut to the size of the card front.  I added the three brads in the corner, then adhered the assembled piece to the card base of white cardstock.  (I like to assemble everything and then attach to a base so I don’t have brad prongs and stitch holes all over the inside of the card…but I don’t always plan ahead so well, especially with the stitches, and I sometimes end up with those tiny holes on the inside anyway.  But I try not to do that when possible.)

Thanks for stopping by!  I’m hoping to get some things done today for a “Wacky Wednesday” post tomorrow.   ;)   Have a great day!
