Versatility In the Treetop

Happy Hump Day!

I thought I’d challenge myself to get a few very different looks from In the Treetop by Lizzie Anne Designs.  To help a bit, I used LAD’s Celebrations Sayings instead of the two sentiments in the stamp set.

A Warm Hello

WH1For this first card, I pretty much stuck with the obvious…a nice little tree, the little bird.  If you look closely, you can see a thin red line around the treetop, matching one of the trees on the patterned paper.  To do this, I inked the treetop stamp then lightly dragged the brush end of a Ruby Red marker around the edges.  It worked great!

Cardstock:  SU Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip   Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey Mellow Paper Pad   Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “In the Treetop” and “Celebrations Sayings”   Ink:  SU Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke   Accessories:  SU Ruby Red marker, American Crafts Chestnut mini-brads, pop dots.  Card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.

Celebrate

CB1

This one is *really* different (hopefully in a good way).  I used one of the treetops for the balloons.  I stamped onto the back side of the paper, cut out the shape, then carefully traced around the edges with a black marker.  The balloons are adhered to the background using pop dots.

The “package” is from the “Celebration Frames” set (also raised on pop dots) and the paisley background is from “Jolies Fleurs.”

I used a Copic marker to color the white string.

Once everything was assembled, I carried over the lined dots from the background paper, adding dotted borders with a Chocolate marker.

Merry Christmas

And lastly, I made a very simple, little Christmas card.  (Pretty self-explanatory.)

It’s a fun set with LOTS of possibilities!
