Welcome Baby

Published by Shel9999 at 11:01 am under My Designs, Whipper Snapper

I’ve been a little under the weather lately and busy with doctor appointments for my son so I haven’t had much stamping time.  I do have this card that I made a few days ago using Anna Wight’s Bundle of Joy from Whipper Snapper Designs.  (I’m nowhere near tired of this set yet so I hope you aren’t either!)

Welcome Baby

WBBG

This was a pretty quick design to “throw together.”  I paper-pieced the balloons and scarf (one balloon is raised on a pop dot), colored in the beak and water, then outlined the goose with a light gray Copic.

Since I don’t have any of those very cool and trendy Nestabilities (YET), I faked it by layering the focal image onto another piece of vanilla cardstock.

Since I didn’t have any truly “ivory” brads, I just punched two 1/4″ circles from vanilla cardstock and adhered them to a couple of “putty-ish” thumbtack brads.

There’s very little coloring (which is sometimes nice–quick and easy) and I like the lift of the one balloon and coordination of those balloons and the scarf.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’m off to find that tissue box!  See you soon!

Cardstock:  SU Very Vanilla   Patterned Paper:  Anna Griffin, Inc.   Stamps:  Whipper Snapper Designs “Bundle of Joy”   Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black   Accessories:  Copic markers, black SU marker (balloon strings), Karen Foster thumbtack brads, ¼” circle punch, wave blade/Fiskars Rotary Trimmer, pop dots.  Card size 4 ¼” x 4 ¼”.

I don’t have any of those Nestabilities either, so I’m going to have to try your idea of layering white on white. Thanks for sharing such an adorable card.
