Cherish Yesterday…a WT

Published by Michele Boyer at 8:59 am under Lizzie Anne Designs, My Designs

Today’s challenge at Splitcoast is Ways to Spray it On.  And since I like to stamp and muddle the colors with water, that’s just what I decided to do.

Cherish Yesterday

CY2This winter Lizzie Anne Designs had the best bunch of new releases ever.  When I saw these two sets, I knew I had to have them, In the Meadow and Say it in ScriptI love the wildflowers and the loopy font of the script, not to mention that the sentiment set has some very nice phrases!  This one is my favorite.

If you visit here often, you know I love my Ranger Walnut Distress ink.  I thought I’d see what would happen if I used it to stamp my images onto watercolor paper and then spray with water.  Wow, the ink really ran!  So if you spray lightly, you get this great bleed of the ink onto the paper.  Once the water dried a bit, I added some touches of Sage ink.  I used the distress ink to stamp the sentiment as I wanted the same shade of brown.  Once everything was stamped, I realized the image was a bit large.  I wanted some of the patterned paper to show, so I decided to cut around the tops of a couple of the flowers.

Don’t forget…you have until the end of March to get 15% off your entire order at Jacksonbelle Embellishments!  Use code Opening02 at checkout!  (And in case you haven’t heard, she has her own store now…no more Ebay…so shopping is MUCH easier!)  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

I love that script font too, it’s called Scriptina. I use it often when printing off my computer. It has such nice loops!

Oh, goodness, this is gorgeous! The wildflowers look real–sort of that fuzzy look they sometimes get when they go to seed. This is sooooooo beautiful!

Those stamps ARE gorgeous, Michele — beautiful fonts, I agree! Love all the distressing and colors you chose. So much so, I actually just finished a card in these very same colors AND that uses hemp, LOL! (will be posting tomorrow). Great watercolor technique you used!
