A Special Card for a Special Someone

That’s the sentiment on the inside of the card.  Today is my grandmother’s birthday and this is the card I made for her.  She is very special to me and unfortunately, I don’t get to see her often enough.   She loves hummingbirds, so I thought this image by Inkadinkado would be perfect.  (If you’re really nice to Lindsey, she might get some more in her store. 🙂 )

A Special Someone

I don’t usually make cards without sentiments, so in a way, this card just looks naked to me.  Well, not “naked” really, but like it’s missing something.  But this image is kind of large and I just wasn’t sure where or how to fit one in.  I thought about making the focal panel larger and including it there, but then not much of the patterned paper would show.  But I think it turned out ok.

I stamped the image in Jet Black Stazon then watercolored with SU reinkers.  Once the ink was dry, I outlined a bit using gray Copic markers (Nos. 1, 3 and 5).  I don’t know that this is an accurate rendition of coloring for a hummingbird, but that’s what they look like in my head. 🙂

I hope my grandmother has a wonderful day…and I hope she realizes my crooked stitching was intentional.  😉

Have a great weekend!!!  Thanks for stopping by!
