New My Favorite Things Wednesday!

Published by Shel9999 at 7:45 am under My Designs, My Favorite Things

On April 2nd (10:30 p.m. est), My Favorite Things will release two new sets, Can Ya Dig It and Happy Mother’s Day.  Today I have two samples using Happy Mother’s Day.

Happy Mother’s Day -1

HMDMFTSC1

This first card follows this week’s MFT sketch challenge (MFTSC24).  If you’d like to play along, you can find the details here.

After stamping the focal image onto white cardstock, I made a mask from a Post It note, then used MFT’s Behind the Scenes to stamp the dotted background.  (There’s a great assortment of backgrounds in that set.)  I stamped the dots on the flowers also.  Perfect match!

Cardstock:  SU Orchid Opulence, Papertrey Ink (white)   Patterned Paper:  Memory Box “Sprout”   Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Happy Mother’s Day” and “Behind the Scenes”   Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, Versamagic Dew Drop “Spring Pansy”   Accessories: Copic markers, SU Pretties kit (flowers and brad), corner rounder.  Card size: 4 ¼” x 5 ½.

Happy Mother’s Day -2

HMD2PNKUnfortunately, I could not get all the details on this card to show in the picture.  The pot and flowers are cut out and raised on pop dots, and the flowers and leaves are covered with a clear gel pen so they’re nice and glossy.  When I popped up the flowers, I added a dot of glue to the stem end and held the point down with the tip of my scissors until it dried.  That way only the outer edges of the flowers are raised and they look like they’re connected to the stems.

Cardstock:  SU Rose Red, Almost Amethyst, Papertrey Ink (white)   Patterned Paper:  Me & My Big Ideas   Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Happy Mother’s Day”   Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black   Accessories: Copic markers, Sakura clear gel pen, ribbon, pop dots.  Card size: 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.

There are two other stamps in this set that I didn’t use on these cards…a little “photo corner” of flowers and the sentiment “Have a wonderful Mother’s Day” which would work well on the outside of the card or as an inside sentiment.

My Favorite Things is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, April 2 from 9-11 p.m. est. Lots of fun is planned!  Find out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. Head over to the MFT forum  at Splitcoast to find out all the details!

And today’s the last day for 15% off your order at Jacksonbelle Embellishments! (Use code Opening02 at checkout!)

I have to run!  We have an exciting day (not really) of doctor appointments.  I’ll be back soon with a sample or two of MFT’s other new release, Can Ya Dig It.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! :)
