Let’s Celebrate…wooHOO!
Hello! I’ve had this set for a while now and I finally took the time to use it. I needed a birthday card for one of my brothers and out of ALL the cards I have (and I have a LOT of cards), none were really right for him.
Let’s Celebrate
I used U R A Hoot from the Kim Hughes Collection at Cornish Heritage Farms. It’s basically an owl/graduation set, but there are birthday and even Christmas pieces too. It’s a really fun set!
You can’t see it here, but I lightly stamped the paper behind the owl with the Burlap backgrounder. I stamped all the pieces onto vanilla cardstock, watercolored and then pieced together on the bluish solid “patterned” paper. The puff on the hat and the owl’s claws are both raised on pop dots. For some additional dimension, I only glued the owl’s body and then placed a little pop dot under each wing. Once everything was together, I used a couple of gray Copic markers to add some shadow and depth.
The paper is from Basic Grey’s new Archaic paper pad. (I got mine from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.)

This is so cute! Fantastic colors and papers! Love the way you popped up some of his parts (that doesn’t sound right, does it?)!
this card is great I love his birthday hat, I have the bird set but not the accessories, I will need to check into that. Love your card.

This is such a great card! I love the colors. I know it’s spring, but fall colors are my very favorite. They’re so warm and cozy.

Oh my gosh, Michele!! This card is fabulous!! I know what you mean about having a lot of cards but still not having the “right” card for certain occasions. Well this one PERFECT. (And I hope they get our blogs/categories back up and working!!)

It seems like I never have the right kind of stamps when I need a card like this. Too bad I need a card like this tomorrow and I still don’t have the right kind of stamps. This is awesome! It would be perfect! I NEED this card! LOVE it!
