Once Upon a Time
I thought I’d play a bit more with Once Upon a Time by Lizzie Anne Designs. I cannot have too many princess cards lying around as my kids go to a LOT of birthday parties!
Happy Birthday Princess!
This one was quite a bit of work, so I’ll be carefully choosing the recipient.
I colored and cut out the dragon, adhering him to the bubble patterned paper using pop dots. He looks like he’s really floating!
I colored and cut out the princess as well, then put her in a window made with a dog tag punch. (I placed a punched piece of white paper inside the window just a little misaligned to give a bit more dimension.) The square patterned paper piece is raised on pop dots (to help create the window). The flowers under the window were made using the “photo corner” stamp from the set.
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (white) Patterned Paper: SEI Chick-a-Dee Tiny Bubbles, Chicky Check and Coochie-Coo Stamps: Lizzie Anne Designs “Once Upon a Time” Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black Accessories: Dog tag punch, ticket corner punch, ribbon, Copic markers, brads, pop dots. Card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.
Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday

I tried for an entirely different look with this same set. I wanted to see if I could create a boy card. I definately think this card is appropriate for a boy, it’s just not what was in my head before I started.
I omitted the crown from the frog’s head and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to align the words.
Cardstock: Prism Herbal Garden Dark, Papertrey Ink (white) Patterned Paper: Polar Bear Press Cupcake Sprinkle and Birthday Candle Stripes Stamps: Lizzie Anne Designs “Once Upon a Time” Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black Accessories: Copic markers, slot punch, 1 ¼” and 1 3/8” square punches, brads (SU Rich Regals), sewing machine . Card size 4 ¼” x 4 ¼”.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great Saturday!

Your princess card is darling! I love the little window you created!
Two darling cards.
OMG!!! Are you kidding me??? The princess card is wonderful!!! I can’t believe all the little details you used to make it perfect! I adore that flying dragon! Even the square patterned paper looks like the walls of a castle! Spectacular, Michele!!! AND the frog card is wonderful! My grandsons would adore it! I feel a case coming on!!
These are sooooooooo fabulous Michele!!! I just love all the detail and the window in the first and the boy one is wonderful! What a great alternative for this set! So cool how you did those strips!
Very Cute! Love the wand in the dragon’s hand. I have been a bit mystified as to what to do with the dragon — he showed up on the inside of my last princess card. Also like how you used the frog — could be a boys card, or just about anybody really. Wonderful work and use of your stamp set!!!
Just adorable. I really love this card. Great job

Whoa! Love both of these b-day cards! They are fantastic!!
Those are awesome cards! THe princess one is beautiful and the dragon truly is floating! But I LOVE how you use the strips on the frog card! Really cool idea, and I will definitely be casing it! IT looks just as inticate as the princess card! Good luck parting with both of them!

You just cost me about $60, I hope you know! You broke me down. I have to have that princess set (and me with no girls!) if for no other reason than I NEED that dragon!!! That, and I love faces w/o noses like that precious princess (hmm… that might make one jump to the logical conclusion that I have nose issues… Well, when you see mine this summer at CHA, you’ll understand why! LOL). Then there was the new mermaid set and that cute one with the stork & the adorable baby and the lemons… Happy Mother’s Day to me!!! : )
Oh Michele, both are so stinkin’ cute! Great detail on the first one. I can see how much work it was. Even your second card looked like it had a lot of work too!
Hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day!
OMGosh!! These are fabulous. Love the princess in the window! Happy Mother’s Day too you too!
Adorable images and great cards! Love the design !
Ack!!! These are darling!! The princess in the window is fabulous, and I love that dragon! What a clever way to use the set for a boy card!!
These are so… cute and I love how you demonstrated the versatility of this set! Just bought the 4th Annivesary Issue of Paper Creations aka The Michele Boyer Absolutely Rocks Edition- you go girl!!!!!!!!

My daughter is SO coveting this card! Nice job!
Love these cards. How funny that I just made a birthday card for a friend today with a frog on it. My husband was like, “Why a frog on a birthday card?” Well, besides the obvious fact that they are cute, this particular friend LOVES frogs. Anyway, I won’t be posting mine until after her birthday, but I had to tell you that I love yours!
Both of these are SUPER darling, M! I looove that princess!!!! awesome job!!
OMGOSH Those are both sooooo cute M! I love the layout on both, they are just fantastic!
Okay, I am a frog freak (or geek!) and I love the froggie card! Great bold design and color on this! Now the princess card I absolutely adore! I can’t believe you cut out around the wand?!! Choose your recipient carefully! Thought I was the only one who did that, lol! These are both fabulous!
Two totally different looks with this set, and they both ROCK!! I have to say I just love the little princess in the window!! Your froggy one is so perfect for a boy too!!
Oh my goodness! Your princess card is just precious! Love your 4 square froggie! Take care! Deb
This is one of the cutest sets for children! Goodness, the princess card is over the top! A little girl would LOVE that! Gosh, big girls would love it, too!
