A Chick Challenge–Designer Style

Published by Michele Boyer at 8:03 am under Cornish Heritage Farms, My Designs

Today’s Chick Challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms is to case something from the CHF gallery.  It can be a direct case of a card, page or project, or a case of designer style.  The designers decided to case each other, but you can choose anything from the gallery if you’d like to play!  (Details here.)  I stalked Sherrie Siemens‘ gallery to see what I could find.

I’ve always admired Sherrie’s work so to choose one of her designs to case was a bit of a challenge in itself.  I wanted to use this new image from The Rummage Bin at CHF, Boys Will be Boys (available tomorrow, May 13).  After going through Sherrie’s gallery, I found this adorable card.  I realized if I turned the sketch on it’s side, the sentiment would be in the proper place and it would work perfectly!

In deciding what to use in place of the flower on Sherrie’s card, I stalked her gallery once again and found this great embellishment idea.  She used a clip of We R Memory Keepers Hardware…of which I have every color of metal and have been hoarding so what better time to break that seal than now!  (I’m rolling my eyes at myself.)

I used Adirondack inks to color the image.  Since I don’t have any reinkers, I just pressed each ink pad into a spot on my Stamp-a-ma-jig imaging sheet and picked up the color with a water brush.  It worked great.

Be sure to check out the other CHF chicks to see what they did:
