Believe…a sketch “challenge”

Published by Michele Boyer at 11:56 am under Cornish Heritage Farms, My Designs

For today’s sketch challenge at Splitcoast, I chose to use Nature Silhouettes from the Kim Hughes Collection at Cornish Heritage Farms.  My first challenge was the sketch itself, but the bigger challenge has been getting a good picture of the card.  The gold here is really more of a soft brownish-gold.  The first time I tried, it looked orange.  Now it’s TOO gold.  And I couldn’t figure out how to adjust the color in my photo editing software.  (I get so aggravated when this happens. lol.)

Believe

BR1

I like my stamped images here, and I like the stitching, but something just still doesn’t sit right with me.  I believe it’s the hemp tied too close to the center of the card.  But I couldn’t figure out how to adjust for that and stick with the sketch.  Overall, I think I like it.  (I think.  If I have time, I may fiddle with it some more.)

Back to the stamp room for me…lots to do.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Cardstock:  Candle Glow Dark, Spring Willow Dark and Natural Smooth by Prism   Stamps:  Nature Silhouettes from the Kim Hughes Collection (CHF) and The Art of Framing (sentiment) from The Rummage Bin (CHF)   Ink:  Adirondack Pitch Black, Butterscotch and Lettuce; Ranger Antique Linen Distress   Accessories: Sewing machine, hemp, sponge. Card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.

I’m loving this card! Anything floral is my cup of tea and this one has such wonderful rich colours. I’ve had my eye on this set for some time — it’s on my wish list and you’re making it move up the ladder quickly :)

Gosh, I know exactly what you mean about the frustration of photographing sometimes. I swear, it often takes longer than stamping the card. Then in the end, in those cases, you have to settle for something that’s not a good representation…sigh… However, to my eyes–this looks beautiful. The cardstock matches the ink…I’ll try to picture it a softer, more brownish gold. Love these botanical image cards. You do them so well. It’s lovely, Michele!

I think you’re a little nutty…this card is gorgeous! IKWYM about the colors though…I adjust to get the paper the right color and then the primas are a totally different color! It doesn’t take away from the finished product though I’ll tell ya, this is beautiful!
