Hometown Pride
TGIF!! Today there is a new Thomas Kinkade release at Cornish Heritage Farms, Hometown Pride. Also available is the perfect sentiment to go along with the image, Land of the Free. I am not all that familiar with Thomas Kinkade. Of course, I have heard of him and I have seen his amazing paintings, but this is my first actual stamping of one of the images.
The Land of the Free
As you can see, I didn’t do much coloring on this one. There are a few reasons for this… 1) I chose to focus on the flag since I felt that was the most important part of the image, 2) I love every Thomas Kinkade image I’ve seen when done monochromatically, and 3) I’m a bit fearful to even attempt to replicate Thomas Kinkade’s coloring, but I am trying.
Here’s a closer view of the card…
Thanks so much for stopping by! Come back tomorrow for a Lizzie Anne pirate! (And I’m still working on that give-away! I haven’t forgotten!) Have a great day!

Michele, this is fantastic!!!! I’ve always been intimidated by these images — there’s no way I could color them the way they deserve to be colored! I LOVE that you colored just the flag — what a great idea, and it is such a great effect!!!! With you on the CHF DT, my wallet doesn’t stand a chance!
I love the way you have just coloured the flag, it is subtle and yet it still pops.
I love how you accented the flag.
Love this new image and the way you just spotlighted the flag - wonderful DP with it and terrific sentiment!
Oh my gosh!! I see some shopping in my future tonight! This is just awesome!
gorgeous!! I luv this
That is beautiful, and the colouring of the flag only is awesome. It may have been to cover up your insecurities about colouring, but I think it looks great! Isn’t it great when things come together??
Great job!
Diane
Beautiful image! I love how you only coloured your American flag…it’s perfect like that!! I have a few Kinkade images from CHF but haven’t used them….ack! Thanks for the inspiration!!
Michelle, both your creations for this post are wonderful. Each in their own way is stricking but both touch my heart. I so much enjoy your blog for it’s creativity and beauty. You are so talented and inspire me to be a better stamper. Thanks for your willingness to share a little bit of you.
Blessings~
GORGEOUS card M! I love the colors and the highlighted flag! Awesome job!!
Love the flag being the only thing colored! It’s so beautiful! And I am making frog cards just for you! LOL!
Michelle, This card is stunning as is. You absolutely made the right call with just coloring the flag — the finished product really grabs at me and fills my big American heart with pride.
This is just gorgeous! I prefer these images as monochromatic and I love how you just highlighted the flag…perfect touch!
Beautiful Michele, I love how you highlighted the flag!!
Beautiful! And I LOVE that you colored only the flag!
Beautifully done especially just highlighting the flag!
This is such a powerful design, M. Just stunning!
This is just stunning Michele! Love, love, love it!
Fantastic, I love this!
I love how you colored in only the flag…what a great card!
I love the TK images more in stamps than I ever did in the paintings. They look so outstanding when done monochromatic like this. Coloring just the flag is perfect. The layout, colors, background–everything is top notch!
I love your highlighted flag on your otherwise monochromatic beauty! I love that backgrounder too!! (I thought it was patterned paper *wink*).
