A Chick Challenge–It’s Transparent

Published by Shel9999 at 10:00 am under Cornish Heritage Farms, My Designs

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!   Back to work? (Ugh.)

This week’s Chick Challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms is to use Clear Card Sheets.   They are like transparencies but a little thicker (the same clear sheet that comes with the unmounted CHF stamps).  They’re perfect as a card base and are available in 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheets so you can get two standard cards from one!

A Long Talk with a Good Friend

TR

How true is that sentiment?  I always feel better after talking with a good friend (even if it’s a short talk)!

I chose Silhouette Blooms I and Friend Centers for my stamps.

All the stamping here is on a 4″ square clear sheet using Stazon inks.  I first stamped the sentiment then added the flowers.  I inked the flower stamp with Vibrant Violet then just touched the corner of an Olive ink pad here and there on the stamp to add a bit of green. I tried stamping the flowers on a square of natural cardstock to place behind the sentiment, but the image was very defined.  I like the softer look of stamping on the transparency.  I placed a square of natural cardstock behind the clear stamped square then tied the ribbon around the two, placing glue dots in several places beneath the ribbon to hold the two together, then adhered the assembled squares to the card front using glue dots.

I adhered another 4″ square of natural cardstock inside the card for a personal message.  To perfectly align the square, I placed glue dots on the back of the square (in the corners), held the square behind the front square and closed the card.

Be sure to check out the other CHF chicks’ clear challenges:  Alli, Becky, Julie, Lisa, Lori, Kim, Sherrie, Valerie, Dawn, Julia, Lesley, Kristine, Lisa.   If you’d like to play along, check out the thread in the CHF Challenge forum (here)!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Cardstock:  Prism Natural Smooth, Clear Card Sheet   Stamps:  Silhouette Blooms I from the Kim Hughes Collection (CHF) and Friend Centers from Mona Lisa Moments (CHF)   Ink:  Stazon Jet Black, Vibrant Violet and Olive Green   Accessories:  Ribbon (May Arts), glue dots.  Card size 5” x 5”.
