Bad Day, Bad Mood
I really was hoping to have something else to post today, but that apparently was not to be. I’ve had a very aggravating day, way too much time in the heat and challenging children. So I thought I’d share this card, quite appropriate under the circumstances.
Bad Mood (Sorry)
(We’ll assume this is a ’she’ since ’she’ has little heart-shaped lips.)
I think she’s had a bad day.
It probably started when she was making her daughter’s bed to find that her darling child had used a black ball-point pen to add smiley faces inside all the flower centers on her Pottery Barn quilt.
I’m guessing she was at the pool far longer than she wanted to be, her children probably wouldn’t get out of the water when it was time to go, and she was not wearing a bathing suit so she couldn’t jump in and drag them out by the ears. So instead she probably had to stand at the edge, her expression a sign to everyone around that if those darling children didn’t get out of the pool at that very instant, she would be going “over the edge” afterall.
Once they were finally home, dried and changed, and as a reward to herself for sweating for five + hours while those lovely children splashed, practiced and played, she made a little trip to Starbucks to get the caffeine she should have had coursing through her body hours earlier. While there, her children probably spotted one of the biggest chocolate chip cookies they’d ever seen and threw a big fit in the hopes of coming home with one. (I’m sure it didn’t work.)
After numerous other instances, I’m certain that at this moment, those children are sleeping soundly in their beds, looking like little angels. And she’s down on the couch having a really big glass of wine. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ll be back soon…at least that’s my plan.

I absolutely love this stamp, and I totally identify with the kid(s) not wanting to leave… glad you are enjoying your wine. Now — where do I find said stamp? It is REALLY cute. I hope things get better!
Hysterical narration! Sorry your day was such a fiasco. The weekend is almost here - hang in there! BTW, cute card!
Love the story. . . I’m so right there with you, um, I mean her!
I think I may need that stamp! And the wine.
i totally understand, honey! whether you wanted to post it or not…..that card is too cute!
{{{{hugs}}}}
Oh no! I totally know those days. HUGS to you.
I LOVE this card. I mean I super freak out crazy love it. I might HAVE to have that stamp. The black/white combo is perfect.
Your story was really a tiny bit funny too. I mean you told it funny. I’m sure it was very trying.
Oh goodness…sorry today was rough! Tomorrow is a new day and I hope it’s brighter for you!
Your card IS super cute though
Gotta love ‘em…and your card
Sorry that I’m laughing at your horrible day! But I’m already THROUGH raising the kids (4 boys) and I’m so GLAD!!! Now I spend way too much time and money on stamps and other fun things for ME! WOOHOO, it does make a person young again! LOL
Sure hope Friday is better for you…oh, and your card is adorable!
A big glass of wine, as well as you should, cranky alien! And some day, those children will have ones of their own, and you will be able to sit back and…smile when they have “difficult” days with their own dear young ones. Truly. I am there now, and it is not gloating, because we still love our children, it’s just a feeling of being right with the universe. ; - )
Oh my gosh Michele ~ your story is hilarious!!! I know it will be funny to you SOME day, just not right now! Ahhh Summer….. It’s long isn’t it??? LOL!!!! Don’t feel alone, I TOTALLY feel your pain!!! Does it feel as though you are being pecked to death by ducks??? A few beers usually makes the day much brighter for me!! LOL!!! Hope today is better for you!
Just in case “that” person is you, I am so sorry! But look at the bright side — your mood drove you to a great card!!
Ha! THis card is sooooooooooo cute! So sorry about that bad day! I can totally relate! As for the ball-pint pen…try spraying it with hair spray. I used to get ink stains on my clothes from a pen when I worked at the bank and hair spray worked well!
I can so relate to your (oops - I mean her) story. You deserve that big glass of wine! Love the card and hope tomorrow is easier!
Well, I absolutely love your card - that stamp is pricelss! As far as your day - I’ve been there and it wasn’t funny then, but it sure is funny reading it (in a - remember what you’re going through way……!)
Great card! And you made up such a great story to go with it, too - very well-written. Almost sounds like it could have really happened! LOL!
Michele…..those bad days are bummers, aren’t they? My husband and I have temporary custody of our sweet 5 yo granddaughter. She has the energy of a whole bunch of 5 yo’s. We are enjoying her so much, but some nights after she goes to bed, we imbibe in a nice glass (yes, a BIG glass) of wine too.
Those days (small children) are over for me - but believe me they are not far from my memory - isn’t wine wonderful? And your card is really cute. Here’s to better days!!
Aren’t kids wonderful?? See how they inspire just great creative work from us? I hope your weekend is better….if not, send them all away!!! And get a swim suit girlfriend - you need to see some splash time too!!
**HUGGS**

You are so funny! Look at your last card and imagine you are there instead. Hope Friday brings you a wonderful day!

OMG what a day you had!!! Love your card…I have soooo been there!! Hope today is better!
What a day! A hapless robot mom could short circuit on a day like that. I hope she’s okay today. Cute card, though. The little touches of red are just right. I like the way you did the brads in alternating colors. I hope today’s a better day.
Wow, what a day! Thank goodness it’s Friday! I think you need a cocktail!
Are you living my life? I’ve been there and done that! Hysterically written though I probably would have had it in BIG black letters. Great card, love the colours. Lots of love, Denise x
What a wonderful account. It has made me laugh so much. I certinly know those feelings but from long ago. Keep writing………… as well as making your fabulous cards.

Wow — what a day! I’ve had a few of those myself!! I hope that wine hit the spot!
Your card is way too cute — that alien just cracks me up! Hope today is better!
LOL - Cute card and I LOVE the way you retold your rough day. The presentation was funny, but I’m sure the real-life experience was a little more than aggravating. Hope tomorrow is better.
I sure hope *she* got that big ol’ glass of wine because she definitely deserved it! And I hope *she* comes back soon because this was one of the funniest posts I’ve read in a long, long time!!!
That’s what I call making some lemonade, girlfriend. Yay, you!!!
Just think you’re not alone! Been there - done that- and will likely be there and doing that again with you! Great card.
I was chuckling at your description - it’s uncanny how you got that much information just from a picture and the card is great - when I realised we share the same surname, so I’ve added you to my favourites.
Sorry about your day, Michele!! Your card is so perfect and says it all!! (I can certainly relate to those kinds of days…all too often).
What an adorable card! Don’t be sorry! Sounds like a typical “Mom” day! Hopefully, they’re few and far between for you!
Sorry to hear “she” had a bad day! I hate those kind of days…..have 2 glasses of wine…hell have the whole bottle…..LOL!!! The card is so cute Michele!!
too funny - I feel your pain though!!! Haven’t had much time to stop by lately but finally got a caught up (a little!) today. Love your projects, as always! Have fun at CHA!
