A Bit More Christmas in July

Hello, everyone!  A couple posts ago I shared some samples using Christmas Critters, a new Kim Hughes set from Cornish Heritage Farms.  Today I have two more samples, this time using Kim’s other new release, Heart Warmers.  Both will be available Thursday, July 3rd.

Patterned Trees

OFP

I decided to ink up the recently released Daisy Chain Scrapblock™ to create my own “patterned paper.”   The block is 6″ x 6″ so even though I made a standard-size card, once I cut the piece for the bottom there was enough left to paper-piece the trees.  I ended up with just a little bit left over.  (The trees are all cut out as one piece.)

I also paper-pieced the heart using the red cardstock and the tree trunks were colored with a brown Copic marker.

Cardstock:  Prism Classic Red, Garden Medium, White (card base), Super Smooth White   Stamps:  Cornish Heritage Farms “Heart Warmers” (Kim Hughes Collection), “Daisy Chain” Scrapblock™   InkAdirondack Pitch Black, Ranger Peeled Paint Distress   Accessories:  Copic marker (E37), 5/8” red grosgrain (Offray), pop dots.  Card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.

Window Cheer

HCWCHF

For the background here I used CHF’s new Scroll Scrapblock™ .  I cut the scalloped frame using a Marvy punch, then used a circle cutter to cut out the inside and through the layers of the card front.  The ornament is stamped onto the green cardstock, then I colored in the heart  using a Krylon Red Shimmer leafing pen for some quick, opaque shimmery color.  (By the way, the pens are currently on sale at CHF.)  I stamped the hanger portion of the ornament onto Prism Natural cardstock and colored in using a gold leafing pen.  (There are two ornaments, back-to-back, so you see the same thing on the other side of the window.)  I used a craft knife to cut out the little hanger strip.

Once I ‘hung’ the ornament, I didn’t like how it flopped around so I inserted a scrap of Clear Card Sheet between some of the layers.  The ornament rests on top of the clear sheet but still hangs freely.

Cardstock:  Prism Classic Green, Classic Red, Super Smooth White   Stamps:  Cornish Heritage Farms “Heart Warmers” (Kim Hughes Collection), “Scroll” Scrapblock™   Ink:  Adirondack Pitch Black and Bottle   Accessories:  EK Success circle cutter, Marvy scalloped circle punch, Krylon Red Shimmer and Gold leafing pens, gold cord, Clear Card Sheet scrap, Stamp-a-ma-jig (for sentiment placement).  Card size 5 ½” x 5 ½”.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!!!
