Baked with Love…and more

Published by Shel9999 at 7:03 am under Cornish Heritage Farms, My Designs, Quick and Easy

Today at Cornish Heritage Farms there are quite a few single images being released in the Kim Hughes Collection.  Here are a few…

Baked with Love

   BWLE

Meet Ed the Moose.  He’s one of the Christmas Critters but just a tad bit smaller.  I tried to be a little creative with the hat, but when my husband saw the card, he said, “That moose has a pie on his head.  Why does he have a pie on his head?”  Ok…*I* thought I was successful in making the PIE look like a chef’s hat, but maybe I’m the only one who thinks so.   Actually, now that I look at it more closely, the moose looks a bit like a sailor. Oh well. :)

And to give credit where credit is due, I didn’t bake the cookies.   My husband did.

Stamps:   Cornish Heritage Farms “Ed the Moose” and “Baked with Love” (Kim Hughes Collection)   InkAdirondack Pitch Black   Cardstock:  Prism White (base), Super Smooth White, Suede Brown Dark   Patterned PaperBasic Grey Offbeat   Accessories:  Copic markers, ribbon (May Arts), loopy brad (Karen Foster).  Card size 5” x 5”.

Merry & Bright

This is Snowy Sophie.  She has a heart covered with Star Dust Stickles.    The patterned papers are from CHF’s new Scrapblocks Layers.  Once I cut the wavy edges on the white paper, I lightly sponged with Adirondack Aqua ink and added a little line of the Star Dust Stickles.  There’s a tiny gem in the star at the base of the ‘y’.

Stamps:   Cornish Heritage Farms “Snowy Sophie” (Kim Hughes Collection)  and “Christmas Expressions” (Mona Lisa Moments)   InkAdirondack Pitch Black and Aqua   Cardstock:  Prism White (base), Super Smooth White   Patterned Paper:  CHF Scrapblocks Layers   Accessories:  Copic markers, ribbon (May Arts), eyelets (American Crafts), Ranger Star Dust Stickles, Hero Arts Gemstone, sponge, Crop-a-dile.  Card size 4” x 4”.
Happy Birthday

HBT

And this is Cosmo the Turtle.  He comes bearing the gift of a lollipop (which here is covered with Aleene’s Paper Glaze.  The sentiment is from Train Expressions (which are not just for the trains! :) ).

Stamps:  Cornish Heritage Farms “Cosmo the Turtle” (Kim Hughes Collection) and “Train Expressions” (Mona Lisa Moments)   Ink:  Adirondack Pitch Black and Red Pepper, Ranger Walnut Stain Distress   Cardstock:  Prism Vanilla Cream (base), Natural Smooth, Desert Coral Dark   Patterned Paper:  Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy   Accessories:  Copic markers, Aleene’s Paper Glaze, Piercing template/needle, sponge.  Card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.
Whew…that was a much longer post than I’m used to posting.  But it doesn’t stop there.  There are quite a few more images…some you’ve seen in sets and some new ones.  You can see them all here.  Have a great day!

Every one of these cards are just adorable. But I have to say that the deer with the pie, I mean hat on is perfect! I did not even notice that it was a pie until I read your post. Of course that is ALL I see now, lol. Super cards.

These are so adorable, Michele. I love the little snowman.

Heehee your husband is so funny! I did think it was a chef’s hat. Then while reading your post, I agree - it could be a pie or a sailor hat too! :) I love your projects with Kim Hughes’ stamps!

All three are adorable! I’m really trying to stay away from CHF but it’s getting harder and harder; luckily payday is only a week away!

LOL about the chef/sailor/pie hat…I was thinking sailor too. I think a little band of crimped white at the base of the pie/hat (he he!) would give it that chef hat lift! Feel free to tell me to shut-up at any time, Michele!

    As always, love your stuff!

I didn’t think of a pie either until I read your post; but, if your husband can bake those nice looking cookies he surely knows a pie when he sees one! *grin*

    Cute cards-all of them.

How cute! The hat comments gave me a giggle too. Sounds like something my husband would have said too! I love Ed’s eyes like he is saying “give me a break” or “whatever” with all the comments about the hat! Love the papers you used too. Using the little rhinestone or whatever sure makes the little snowman card even more special. Thanks so much for sharing them! Such talent!

These are wonderful! I never thought “pie” until you shared your husbands thoughts! My hubby comes up with some doozies too! I can’t choose a favorite! The snowman in darling and I’m in love with that turtle and his lolly pop!

  16. Lynetteon 05 Sep 2008 at 8:11 am

Very cute cards, Michele! I think it was very creative to use that stamp as a chef’s hat - i didn’t realize it was a pie! And how cool your husband baked the cookies:)

  17. Danielleon 05 Sep 2008 at 11:09 am

Oh I love all three cards! I immediately thought “chef” when I saw the hat…I didn’t know it began life as a pie! Very clever! But your husband didn’t recognize it because it didn’t have dirt and tire marks on it from being run over, that’s all. And I just love that moose’s face…his eyes have that come hither look! Can a moose do that? I think that’s against the law. I love the sparkly heart on Sophie and that turtle is positively adorable! Have a great day!

O M G that deer is AWESOME! I TOTALLY knew it was a chef’s hat! That is SO SO awesome. LOVE IT! And your husband BAKES? WHAT??? LOL Mine does the scoop and bake, but he burns them. LOL

The snowman card is super cute!

    The turtle one too. :)

    YOU rock!

These are adorable! I laughed right out loud about your husband’s comment about the pie on his head! Then laughed again about your comment that he looked like a sailor! Just a hoot! Love the snow person too! Adorable! Best, Curt

What adorable cards, Michele — I didn’t realize Kim had a new release . . . I’ll have to go check out these cute critters! P.S. I think it looks like a chef’s hat! ;)

Happy to hear your son is doing well after surgery.
