A Rockin’ Color Challenge

I had a bad day yesterday in the creativity department.  Wasted a lot of paper. Got nothing done.  It was very aggravating.  So this morning I peeked at the color challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  Real Red, Kraft and Black….PERFECT!  I needed a birthday card to go along with the Guitar Hero for my husband for his birthday.  (Only a couple more days!  Eek!)

I used Inkadinkado’s Rock Star set.  (I just love those wacky strings at the top. lol.)  I tried my best not to turn this into a “road card” since my husband is not a fan of distressing, but I just had to run an inked sponge over the swirly embossed piece.  I had to.  It looked too plain.  (And wow, I didn’t use any patterned paper AND I finished the inside! :) )

This isn’t my favorite card I’ve ever made, but I do like it and I think my husband will too.  :)

Stamps:  Inkadinkado Rock Star   Ink:  Stewart Superior Palette Noir; Ranger Black Soot Distress   Cardstock:  SU Real Red, Kraft, Very Vanilla; Prism Black   Accessories:  Cuttlebug D’vine Swirls embossing folder, Fiskars Rotary Trimmer/Deckle cutting blade, ¼” circle punch, black brads, sewing machine, sponge.

    Michele- Are you CRAZY??? This card is FAB!!! What’s not to love about it? It’s funky,groovy and way out!!! Your hubby should love it!!!

    It’s fantastic! And it’s the same guitar I used on my hubbys b-day card…and almost the exact color combo-but I road tested mine a bit! I love the brads you added and the embossed swirl bg!!

    Your card is awesome! My nephew is a huge Guitar Hero fan and I am going to try and make a card similar to this. I love the distressing on the CB folder - it adds that little extra —- as well as the stitching and the brads. Keep these great cards coming - I love looking at your creations. Gets me motivated to try something different too.

    Fabulous card for your husband! I’m sorry to hear about your friend’s Mom. How very sad!

    We have Guitar Hero World Tour - it’s so fun, you can sing, play drums and guitar. I love playing it as much as my guy! :)
