The Drama of the Sickies-Just Sayin’
Once again, this week’s “Just Sayin’” card was inspired by my daughter. Last weekend she had a 24-hour stomach bug and although I felt very badly for her, it was such a relief to see that she recognized that queasy feeling and was able to get herself to the bathroom.
Get Well Soon
So that you can fully understand my appreciation for her newfound realization, let me describe the last “drama of the sickies” in my house. (I won’t go into too much detail but honestly, this is really what it is like here…thankfully, not too often.)
My daughter was getting sick…in her room. I was trying to catch what I could in a shirt but some of the mess got on the carpet. My son (two years older) comes in, screams “EWW!!! EWW!! IT’S ON THE FLOOR! IT’S ON THE FLOOR!” He keeps screaming, my daughter starts crying, I’m trying to console her, quiet him, contain the mess, and my husband (ever-so-helpful in situations such as these) is dry-heaving in the hallway.
So although I was upset that my daughter was sick, I was happy that I would not be shampooing carpet, doing laundry and taking ibuprofen in the middle of the night…at least not this time.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Ah…I can so relate to this. One year our son was in the bathtub RIGHT by our middle daughter’s bedroom. She got sick and rather than going in the bathroom RIGHT THERE BY HER BEDROOM, she ran all the way to our bathroom…which means she puked in the hallway, on our bed as she turned the corner, on the wall, on the tub in the bathroom she was trying to reach, on the floor again and finally in the toilet. Oh I so get it!!!
Praise the good Lord when they recognize it coming and make it to the bathroom in time!
I know, that’s really TMI huh?
Hugs; take care!!
Sorry but I had to laugh at your tale…it has been a long time since I was there, but as a mother, I can so relate!
Oh darn…forgot to say how darn cute this card was too!
Love this card!!
Oh you poor thing, I have two sons that are much older now, I can remember the days when I had bed linens to clean . . . ugh! Your card is so adorable, love the stamp, way too cute!
Oh my gosh…I have SOOO been there. Your card is just adorable, and so perfectly colored!! I love your papers and stitching!!
Cute card Michelle, just love that image. OMG your house (and husband) sounds so much like mine!!
You had me laughing at your story as I have lived it LOL and not that long ago. I have to breath through my mouth when I deal with barf or I’ll be adding to the mess! Hope things settle down soon for you as this is not fun. Hang in there! The card is wonderful!
Aw, I’m sorry your daughter was sick but your story gave me such a chuckle! My husbands biggest contribution when the girls are sick is to stand there as they’re puking saying “let it go…. let it go….” I always give him the “NOT helping!” glare! As if they’d prefer to hold it in!
Your card is adorable! Love the color, the stitching and that image is too cute!
Love your chickens - naturally! and all that stitching is just fabulous! I sure laughed when I read the “husband” part! Whew! My hubby always says “I can’t help - I’ll throw up……..” I think to myself - anybody can make themselves throw up buster - get out of my way…….. Good thing they are cute!
Your card is really cute, sorry for all the troubles you have had.
So sorry to hear that you little one was ill and hope no one else go it! This is such a cute card! The PP, the gingham ribbon, the stitching is just perfect for these little chickens!
I’m right there with you right now! Just went through a similar situation last night and had lots to clean up. I’m dreading the upcoming week cause when one starts with the stomach bug, the rest of us follow slowly but surely within a week. Hope your daughter is feeling much better. Great card and stitching. Hugs, Maria
What a wonderful card. I hope your daughter feels better now. Hugs Marja
I can so relate, but I’m the one dry-heaving in the hallway! Sorry to hear your daughter was sick, hope she is feeling better! Such a cute card Michele as always!!
This card is so cute! i love it…great job.
Sorry to hear DD is sick…hope she is feeling much better. And yes I agree it is a blessing when they actually get to the stage when they feel it coming and can make it to the bathroom….
ROTF, as I do each time I remember to tune in for your Saturday funnies! It’s funny now, right? Not so at the time though! Love the part about DH dry-heaving…they’re such wimps sometimes and such studs other times, right?!
Cute, cute card–love the image and your stitching is so darn perfect!
Have a great weekend!
Amy
