It’s a Match!
When time allows, I love to make matching envelopes for my cards, so Julia’s challenge today was perfect for me! We’re using envelopes. They can be incorporated into your card or project, or you can make a matching envelope to compliment your card. If you’d like to play along, you can find the challenge info here.
Hello
I used Sweet Spring, one of Kim’s new releases available today. (
Sorry, it’s just SO cute…one of my favorites of all of her releases! If you like spring, little chicks, bunnies and soft cuddly sheep, you must check it out!)
I stamped each chick twice onto the solid
“patterned paper,” adhering one full image to the stamped white cardstock, then cut the second pieces, leaving off a wing on each chick and adhering those with pop dots.
My original intention was to line the envelope with the green floral paper, but I only had two small pieces left. Instead I matted one strip of the patterned paper onto the dark Birchtone cardstock, scalloping one edge with my Fiskars Rotary Trimmer and scallop blade. I stamped the little chick in the corner along with the little row of flowers he’s about to pick.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy your day!
Stamps: Cornish Heritage Farms “Sweet Spring” (Kim Hughes Collection) Ink: Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black Cardstock: Prism Birchtone Dark, Super Smooth White Patterned Paper: Basic Grey Sugared Accessories: Copic markers, ribbon, safety pin, clear 3-d gel pen by Sakura, Fiskars Rotary trimmer/scallop blade, Spellbinders Nestabilities, button, glue dots, pop dots.

Oh my! another sweet one…..love it!
Michelle, this is so adorable, love those chicks! I’ve been swamped with holiday preps, events, as soon as I catch up, I’m coming back to view all your gorgeous cards that I’ve been missing.
This is darling Michele! I LOVE the matching envelope! What a great challenge ~ hopefully I’ll have time to play!
Oh man, that is too cute!!! Dang, now I have to go look at this stamp set! Shame on you for forcing this on me! Ok, you’re right, I have no will power. I am the one shamed.
I love, love, love, that matching envelope! I am usually in such a rush that I never decorate them anymore. Someone’s going to get a fabulous treat with this matching set!!!
Michele this is adorable!! I love the layout and the buttons:)
Love this set! Many years ago, a dear friend and fellow stamper( the very accomplished SCS LovinHim) taught me, by example, to finish envelopes, and “insides”, always carrying the theme throughout. Sometimes I get lazy and omit the envies (many times!) but you have inspired me to return to creating a matching set! Thank you.
Oh, this is sooooo cute! I love the card AND the envelope. I know I should do something on my envelopes, too, but by the time I get the card done, I just don’t seem to have the time or the energy to do the envelope!
OH…MY…GOSH!!!!! This is beyond cute! You win the award for best enabler!!!
This is just darling.
This is completely adorable!!!
Absolutely adorable! Love the images and that BG paper. Wonderful card and envie.
this is just too cute for words! love everything about it, michele!
Could that be any cuter! Just for that, I am going to buy this set! Adorable, thanks! I am sure Cornish Heritage Farms will thank you too!
Michele this is beyond cute. I love all your little touches. I really appreciate how you include all the “ingredients” in your listing.
This is so cute! How fun to decorate the envelope! I mean who wouldn’t love to see that in the mailbox instead of bills!!!
This is so stinkin’ cute I could spit! I’m dying to order Kim’s new set, but I’m making myself wait-boo hoo! Your matchy-matchy envie is perfect too!
Amy
I love your “matching” idea, and also love the stamp–now, I must go & look it up. I am not usually into “chicks”, but you have made this one look adorable!
So sweet! Love this card!
Totally adorable; love, love, love it!!
Oh your killing me with all your cute creations! Adorable card/matching envelope, too cute!
This is pure cuteness, Michele!! I love those images, and how you’ve added lots of dimension!! Great layout, coloring, and I love the buttons!!
The dimension is perfect! You’ve really made these precious chicks come to life! I love the papers and layout you’ve used and I adore the button/ribbon/pin/tag too!
