Just Sayin’…It’s been a while
Happy Day-after-Christmas! I hope you all had a very nice holiday. I certainly did! But…
I am So Over This
I’m thankful I no longer have to lock the presents in the spare bathroom and I’m thankful that my children liked everything they received. I’m thankful to no longer have the argument that if Santa knows when you are sleeping and he knows when you’re awake, he must also, therefore, know when you’re taking a shower and that’s why they refused to take one. (Actually, they each did take one but it was the quickest ever.) However, I am not thankful that I now have to take them shopping to spend their gift cards.
I hate shopping. In fact, scrapbook and book stores are the only ones I don’t mind going into. So you could say I was absolutely tortured by the Target/Toys R Us Shop Hop today. Both of my children left each store empty-handed which, in their eyes, is an unspeakable fate. But everything was picked over, the shelves were mostly empty and I needed ibuprofen. Badly. They want to try again tomorrow. ![]()
Not gonna happen.
I have convinced them each to make a list, think about it for a while, then decide which item they would most like to have. Then either I or their father will go purchase said items…childless. Just sayin’…I can’t take it.
About the card…I had an order from My Favorite Things arrive just this afternoon and this set, Daydreaming, was among my new goodies. I just love coloring these BC Dzyns girls. (I have another I haven’t yet shown you.) I used my Prismacolor pencils for this one. I’m in no way an expert (or even close), but I like how this one turned out.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day/night!

URGH; that gift card shoppin’ will kill ya eh? Amazing how picked over everything is…we ventured out too; but all in all, it wasn’t too bad.
Glad you had a GREAT holiday!!
So sorry for the nasty shopping experience!! I think there should be a ban on all shopping for a month or two after Christmas.
I absolutely love your card!! It’s fabulous!!
Gorgeous!! I am waiting for the new year before I try to spend my giftcards…I LOATHE crowds and I HATE to shop…bad combo!!
WOWZERS! That card is GORGEOUS of course.
Your coloring is amazing!
You made me thankful for not giving the kids gift cards/cash as I had once planned to do this Christmas…we’re having much fun with Mr. Wii! Although, Santa did leave a little cashola in their stockings—aaack!
Seriously, this gal must have one fantastic makeup artist…oh wait, that would be YOU! Love her look, Michele!
Happy post-holidays to you,
Amy
wow, Michele! You did a fab job with those Prismacolor pencils!
Love the card Michele…your colouring is fabulous!
LOL @ shopping after Christmas. I think gift cards are a wonderful idea but you’re right about everything being picked over and the shelves empty after the holiday. This year my Mom sent Chloe a gift card in the mail. I let her open it and spend it a few days before Christmas. That way she was able to pick out what she wanted and not have the disappointment.
Hope you had a wonderful holiday!
cute card love the saying. we don’t have any gift cards this year. yea!! i also hate going shopping in the stores. yuck.
LOL about the shopping!! I also hate to shop — and we have MANY gift cards to spend!
I love this card, Michele!! The colors and your coloring are fantastic! Love the flowers tucked behind the corner!!
Great card! The look on her face is priceless! I LOVE the sentiment! LOL
My, oh my! What beautiful pencil work!!! LOVE all the shading and color blending you did!
Oh I love shopping, but definitely childless! They are almost as bad as brining my husband! I love this card though…gorgeous green eyes on her! Great coloring Michele!
