More “Egg”citement from Whipper

Hi!  I’m still working on new Whipper Snapper images and today I have a few more samples of new releases to share.  These totally crack me up!  (hee-hee)

“Egg”spresso Anyone?

              Eggspresso

You’re “Egg”stra Special

         Eggstra Special

And You Crack Me Up!

        You Crack Me Up

I cut little cracks into the paper for this one and added a cracked button I found in my stash.  I also decided it was about time I copy Anna’s banner-style sentiments since everyone else is doing it.  (She’s such a trend-setter.)   🙂

You can see the egg images and sentiments on Whipper Snapper’s website here.

I hate to post and run, but I have a lot to do today including an appointment with an ophthalmologist this afternoon.  (Lovely.) Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Bottoms Up, Baby!

Today’s challenge at Splitcoast Stampers is ways to use alcohol.  You can use alcohol inks (which I don’t have), rubbing alcohol techniques (which I don’t know), or the more obvious…which is what I used.

A Real Friend Knows…

      ARFK

I found this sentiment while browsing through Addicted to Rubber Stamps.  (Remember all those apples?)  It is actually a horizontally long sentiment but in order to fit it on the card with Winobella (Stamping Bella), I had to alter the line breaks with a Stamp-a-ma-jig.  The next time I’ll just re-type it and print from the computer because after all of the markering, positioning and huffing, I was just about ready for one of those glasses of wine.

I used a clear 3-d gel pen on the wine bottle, glasses and Wino’s beaded necklace.

I’m off to the doctor (ick).  I have a strange eye thing going on.  I’m hoping it’s nothing serious, maybe just allergies (although I’ve never had that problem this early in the year).  We shall see.  Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

New Whipper Snapper, Part III

We finally got snow!! YAY!  The kids were already off as yesterday was a scheduled teachers workday, but the kids had a blast! Me?  I dried wet coats, snow pants, hats, etc.  Multiple times actually.  I didn’t get much else done, but I do have a couple more new Whipper Snapper samples to share.  🙂

I don’t know what it is about these images.  They are just so easy and FUN to color!

Toad You So!

            WSTYS

This card uses Eli and Frogger and the sentiment “Toad You So!”

Thanks…I needed that!

                WSTINT

And this is Riley with a sentiment from Anna’s Love at Home set.

If you like these “children” images, you can see many more, each one as cute as the next, here.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Forcing the Flowers (on myself)

Hi everyone!  I decided to challenge myself once again using flowers.  (Eek!)  Actually, this time went quite a bit more smoothly than the last.   I’m still not comfortable using them, but I will conquer!  🙂

Hello

     HCGSAV

This sweet image is called Picnic of Daisies from Stampavie.  (You can find it and others at All That Scraps.)  Coloring the more realistic images such as this (as opposed to a cutesy character type) are somewhat intimidating to me but I really enjoy the “challenge.”  I used Copic markers on the image as well as the Prima flowers and brads.

I felt the pinkish panel was a bit plain so I created a crossover pattern using a Fine Lines backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great Tuesday!  🙂

Stamps:  Stampavie “Picnic of Daisies” (Sarah Kay); Cornish Heritage Farms “Fine Lines” backgrounder and “Friend Centers” (Mona Lisa Moments)   Ink:  Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black; Adirondack Salmon by Ranger   Cardstock:  Prism Suede Brown Dark, Papaya Puree Medium, Natural Smooth   Patterned Paper:  My Mind’s Eye Tres Jolie “Cute” Floral Stripe/Rose   Accessories:  Copic markers, ribbon, Prima flowers, brads, SU hardware, ribbon.    Card size 5 ½” x 5 ½”.

Sweatheart Owls

WW200

TGIM!   🙂

This week’s product focus at My Favorite Things is Shimmerz.  I only have a few colors, but I will say they are fun!  It’s an easy way to add a bit of sparkle to your images.  Using a small paintbrush, you just paint the Shimmerz onto the areas you want to sparkle!  You can check them out here

Whoo Loves you baby?

    WLYB

I used MFT’s new set, Owls of the Season.  (I just love their little faces!)  I paper-pieced the owls, added a bit of sparkle, dotted over the dots and eyes with a 3-d black gel pen and then raised the owls on pop dots.   The branch was stamped three times, using a Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement on the lower layers of patterned paper.  I also used last Thursday’s MFT sketch (MFTSC65).

I painted some Angel Wings Shimmerz on a piece of patterned paper, stamped the hearts, then cut them out and added them to the ends of the branches.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great Monday!

More Newly Released Whipper Snapper

Good morning, everyone!  Well, it’s morning while I’m writing this.  Yes, it’s Saturday morning, I’m in my “cave” (a.k.a. “library” that is my stamp room) and I can hear my beautiful children arguing in the family room, calling each other names and tattling to me every 30 seconds.  It’s lovely.  lol)

I have a couple more new Whipper Snapper releases to share today…a bunny and a squirrel.

Hello!

       WSHBLB

I love the little bunny looking up at the ladybug!  There’s another bunny I’ve yet to color, but when I do, I’ll be sure to share!

These tiny, bright prints from K & Company’s “Berry Sweet” mat pad are so cute and perfect for card-making.  I found the pad at Michaels.  I just might go back for another!

Ahhh…Nuts!

       WSAN404

And this was the last of two of my brown Copics.  (I still need to find the refills…and soon.)  I think it was worth it though.  I love this little squirrel and the sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!  (And if you’re at CHA, I’m TOTALLY jealous!!)  🙂

One Sick Chicken

Hi everyone!   TGIF!  🙂   I’ve been having a lot of fun coloring new Whipper Snapper releases and I’ll be sharing some of those over the next several days.

How about a sick chicken? (Even when they’re sick, Anna’s chickens are still cute!)

Get Well Wishes

              WSGWC2R

This little gal is all tucked in, warm and cozy beneath her fluffy blanket.  Hopefully my choice of bright colors will cheer her and not make her more ill.  🙂

I’m off and running this morning!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

A Bigger and Better Just for Fun Challenge

Hi everyone!  I’m really excited about our Just for Fun challenge this month!  Carole and I have invited three more friends to the mix!  I’m sure you know them…Alli Miles, Julie Campbell and Lori Craig!  WOOHOO!  Carole and I are so happy you all have joined us!

This month Lori chose Whiff of Joy’s Willow with Hot Chocolate.  And Carole sent to each of us this fun patterned paper by American Crafts.

Willow Presents Hot Chocolate…or a Caramel Macchiato

OFP

There’s a little surprise behind Willow.  No, this time it isn’t a fire. 😉  It’s a Starbucks gift card.

I used two hinges from my stash of We R Memory Keepers hardware and a word window punch to slip the gift card into.  I wanted to place the gift card over the ribbon, but then the gift card stuck out a bit so I settled for tucking it underneath.  The knotted ribbon holds the hinged flap closed.

The heart brads were actually pewter so I colored over them with a dark brown Copic and now they match the copper hardware.  🙂

Be sure to check out Carole, Alli, Julie and Lori‘s blogs to see what they’ve done with the same paper and image.  I can’t wait to see!  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

ETA:  The prices of images on the Whiff of Joy website are listed in Euros, but if you look on the left sidebar, there is a little “currency” window.  From there you can change the price listing to US Dollar, Canadian Dollar, etc.  You can also find some of the images at All That Scraps but they sell out very quickly.  You have to be a stalker to purchase them from ATS. 😉

It’s a New Release Blog Hop!

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the January BC Dzyns Blog Hop!  If you are just popping in here, you may want to start at the beginning with Kim‘s blog.

The new BC Dzyns set, Heartbreaker, is available today, January 21st, along with a new Paper Doll Sentiments set.  I have a couple samples to share today using Heartbreaker…my favorite and not-so-favorite (or, according to my daughter, “hideous”…  Nice, huh?)

We Belong Together (or the Not-So-Favorite, a.k.a. “Hideous” one)

           WBT

I don’t think it’s THAT bad, do you?  I think I’d like it better if I’d done more (or something else) with the heart.

And my favorite, Coffee and Friends

    C&FBCD

I made this for my friend, Teri. We meet for coffee every couple of weeks or whenever we can fit it into our schedules.

In order to get the girl printed in reverse, I stamped the image, scanned it, flipped it in my photo editing program and printed onto white cardstock.  For the ponytail girl, I masked off part of her hair and then changed it a bit.

You may be wondering why the girl in green looks a little irritated.  Let me tell you why.  (I just happen to know.)  She and her friend were enjoying their coffees and a nice chat last week when a man came in and sat behind them.  The man went unnoticed until he started making that very disgusting sinus clearing noise.  You know the one I’m talking about, don’t you?  That literally makes me ill.  If I hear it once, fine. I still cringe, but I understand that sometimes people do that because they feel it’s the only way to clear things.  (UGH.)  But over and over and over and over…ICK!  I so badly wanted to turn around and say “DUDE! This is a restaurant!  People are trying to EAT in here!”    Just sayin’, if you have that much stuff going on, and you need to make that much noise taking care of it, please don’t do it in public.   Teri was laughing at me a bit, and we still had a nice visit, but it COULD have been better.  GAG!

Ok…I got sidetracked.  So for the card, I combined the new Heartbreaker set with Hot Stuff.  The girls and cups were colored with markers and raised on pop dots.C&FIS

I finished the inside too.

To see more samples using the new Heartbreaker and Paper Doll Sentiment sets, please continue on with the hop by visiting Michelle’s blog.   You might find a give-away along the way!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Snowy Friends

It is such a pleasure to design with stamps illustrated by a friend!   My stamping buddy, Diane Zechman, illustrated this Snow Friends set by C.C. Designs.  The snowman images are just adorable and I love how the snowflakes have the tiniest hearts on the ends!  Can you see them?

Snow Friends are the Best Friends

     SFBF

I paper-pieced the snow”gal’s” coat, hat and scarf and used just a bit of marker on other parts.  The decorative edge was created with a Martha SFBFCUStewart snowflake punch.  I didn’t get the result I was hoping for (not really sure what that was-lol) so I glued some little flower charms along the edge.  You can’t tell in the picture, but I also added Angel Wings Shimmerz to the snowgal and ground.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!
