A New Year’s Resolution…Just Sayin’
Like many other people, I’ve been thinking about New Year’s resolutions. I know a lot of intentions end up down the drain after a while, but we do try. I’ve thought of a couple things I’d like to work on.
The first is to try to stay out of Starbucks every day or, at a minimum, reduce the size of my order.
Chill Out
Secondly, I’d like to worry and stress less. I know there’s no point in “borrowing trouble” or worrying about things you cannot change but I tend to do a lot of that anyway. So that’s my biggest goal …to worry less…to “Chill Out.”
An even bigger challenge will be getting my children to chill out. My daughter (six) is a drama queen in every way. Last night she was in the bathroom when all of a sudden I heard screaming. “MOMMY, I’M BLEEDING! I’M BLEEDING!” I rush into the bathroom and she has this tiny little scratch of blood on her leg. I rolled my eyes (another thing I should try to stop doing) and she says “Well, aren’t you going to DO something about it?!” Then there’s my son who should be a lawyer or a judge, maybe even president, when he grows up. He likes to be in charge, he blows things WAY out of proportion and likes to argue. He will pick words apart until you’re ready to explode.
(Remember the “He said I was stupid”/”No, I said she was SO stupid. There’s a difference” argument?) I just hope I live long enough to see his “talents” put to good use.
I paired Snowbunnybella with Basic Grey’s Figgy paper pad. I popped up the hood, cuff and boot fluffs as well as the little pom-poms on the hood.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great stress/worry-free day! (Just sayin…)

Ackkkk!!! She is soooo cute! I love everything about this card. Gorgeous detail!!!
I got confused when I was reading your post… for a minute I thought you were talking about my house…
I love this card!! You worked the papers beautifully!! Her paper pieced outfit is fantastic — love the striped leggings!
This card is fantastic!! I love it!
Oh, Michele…your Bella is so very cute!! I love all of your paper piecing and the pretty papers you’ve used!! Love how you’ve done the sentiment as well!!
Good luck with your resolutions!!
Love all your paper piecing Michele! I agree, that chilling out is something we need to do as parents. I have always said that I need to “pick my battles” when it comes to my kids because someday I may need the strength to flatten them - with my wisdom that is…. heh!
LOVE it!! The paper piecing and bright white cuffs and pom poms are sooo awesome….Good luck on the Chilling Out
Love every single thing about this, M! Wonderful!!!
Totally adorable! I have 2 drama Kings myself…I hear you about teaching them to CHILL OUT!! (I have nooooooo idea where they get it….) LOL
Oh she’s just too adorable! I sure love the colors. I have a drama queen here, too! I think she got it from me, unfortunately. Luckily the prince is more low keyed, like his dad. Good luck!
Ohhh what a wonderful card. Fabulous coloring. Hugs Marja
This is awesome!! I told my grandpa to chill out once….never happened again, LOL!!
Wonderful card - especially with the temperatures I’m experiencing right now!!! Joan
rofl… I can always count on you for a good giggle! It’s sort of like that at our house too and we only have one child…and the dog…poor dog gets blamed for sooooooooooo much! LOL!
Oh I’m a worrywart too! My husband says he’s surprised I’m not grey and going bald yet…haha!
Your card is so cute….time for me to pull out this stamp! Thanks for the inspiration!
Sooo stinkin’ COOL, and yes, pun was fully intended, wink! Love, love love that parka, baby! Wonderful layers and your coloring ain’t too shabby either!
HNY!
Amy
OMG, I just looked again and saw her tights…you are the bomb!
Fabulous paper piecing! She’s a hot snow bunny for sure! I love the kids stories…it’s good thing they are cute *sigh*
Wow, that is really amazing! Your cards rock! My daughter was like that, and still can be, but she is 11 now so not so much. Hers is hormonal now!!! Yikes!
I love how you added the words, Michele! And I think I could try the “reduced” stress one too. No problem with the Starbucks, though….I don’t like coffee….he he…and besides, I’d have an hour drive to get there!
You are too funny! Your daughter sounds just like my daughter, she’s 8! I have heard that with girls, the drama doesn’t go away….I am definitely getting paid back! My son knows EVERYTHING so I don’t argue since I’m ALWAYS wrong anyway….one day when I am in the old folks home or DEAD, he’ll realize that maybe his parents weren’t SO stupid!!!!
Your card is darling Michele! Those colors are gorgeous and your coloring is fantastic! Have a Happy New Year!
love the chill out card. i hear ya about the kids chilling. really i wish mine would not freak out about little things.
Super cute card, Michele! I love to read your stories about your kids. Just a word of warning - it will get worse before it gets better!
LOVE this card, Michele! You are truly the queen of paper piecing and layouts in my humble opinion!! I hope you’re able to accomplish the chilling out goal! Good luck on that one! I was finally able to do it, but that was when my children grew up and finally left home!! As long as you can maintain your sense of humor about it, you’ll survive!!
Cute, I always love your paper piecing and the paper you choose…and what a great way to do the sentiment!
So very cute!!
She’s so cheeky, I just love this card, a fabulous image!
This card is wonderful! I don’t leave many comments (something that will change!) but I’m a big fan of your work!
I have a President and Drama Queen all wrapped up in one!! LOL…she loves to taunt her sensitive argumentative little sister!! Isn’t quiet wonderful???
