It’s a Terribly Scary Thing

I know someone with breast cancer who is having a hard time dealing with the the side effects of chemo, not to mention the obvious fear of what is happening or what might happen to her body.  My heart just breaks for her.  I can only imagine how terryibly scary it would be.  I wanted my friend to know that I’m thinking about her and praying for her.  And I wish I could just make everything better.

Thoughts of You

     TOYP

This card is so much softer than it appears here.  The light pinks are soft pink and the darker pink is not so mauve-ish looking.  (So irritating.)  I know people often say “It looks SO much better in person” and I’m sure it does, but I always wonder if people are really thinking, “Sure it does….” with a big eye roll.  I promise this one DOES look better in real life.  Rolling Eyes

I used Ranger distress inks to stamp the flowers, stamping off as many times as I could for lighter impressions, then stamped off onto scrap paper once before stamping the ribbon in the corner.  The buttons are a soft pink, like the lighter pink cardstock, not as dark as they look in this photo.  Rolling Eyes  (lol)

I used a Paisley backgrounder (Scrapblock, actually) on the lighter pink, a different one with darker ink on the darker piece.  Even with using darker ink on the darker cardstock, the ink has totally disappeared.  I’ve had this happen before (it’s one of the reasons I don’t often use backgrounder stamps…the other and more prominent reason being that patterned paper has made me lazy).  If you use Prism cardstock and Ranger ink, have you had this happen?  It’s there…and then it isn’t.   Don’t get me wrong, I really like Prism paper….maybe it’s the ink?  Maybe it’s just not a good combo?  I don’t know but I’ve never seen that happen with Stampin’ Up ink and cardstock.  It’s so weird.
I hope you’ll come back tomorrow (tonight actually, at midnight, EST) for the My Favorite Things March release blog hop!  It’s always so much fun!  Have a great day!
