It’s a Terribly Scary Thing
I know someone with breast cancer who is having a hard time dealing with the the side effects of chemo, not to mention the obvious fear of what is happening or what might happen to her body. My heart just breaks for her. I can only imagine how terryibly scary it would be. I wanted my friend to know that I’m thinking about her and praying for her. And I wish I could just make everything better.
Thoughts of You
This card is so much softer than it appears here. The light pinks are soft pink and the darker pink is not so mauve-ish looking. (So irritating.) I know people often say “It looks SO much better in person” and I’m sure it does, but I always wonder if people are really thinking, “Sure it does….” with a big eye roll. I promise this one DOES look better in real life. ![]()
I used Ranger distress inks to stamp the flowers, stamping off as many times as I could for lighter impressions, then stamped off onto scrap paper once before stamping the ribbon in the corner. The buttons are a soft pink, like the lighter pink cardstock, not as dark as they look in this photo.
(lol)
I used a Paisley backgrounder (Scrapblock, actually) on the lighter pink, a different one with darker ink on the darker piece. Even with using darker ink on the darker cardstock, the ink has totally disappeared. I’ve had this happen before (it’s one of the reasons I don’t often use backgrounder stamps…the other and more prominent reason being that patterned paper has made me lazy). If you use Prism cardstock and Ranger ink, have you had this happen? It’s there…and then it isn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I really like Prism paper….maybe it’s the ink? Maybe it’s just not a good combo? I don’t know but I’ve never seen that happen with Stampin’ Up ink and cardstock. It’s so weird.
I hope you’ll come back tomorrow (tonight actually, at midnight, EST) for the My Favorite Things March release blog hop! It’s always so much fun! Have a great day!

Very kind and thoughtful of you, Michele. Your card is soft and beautiful. Your friend will really appreciate your thoughtfulness.
This card is gorgeous! You are going to be such a blessing to your friend. Thanks for sharing.
This is such a beautiful card and I’m sure she will appreciate you for making it and thinking about her!
Beautiful card! And yes, it is scary, and as a 11 year survivor I urge everyone to get their mammograms-mine was caught early through one. I just finished a card for my daughter to give to her best friend who is a 5 year survivor! Hope things go well for your friend.
Get those mammograms!!
this card will cheer her up for sure I will pray for her
Hugs
Norine
I’m so sorry about your friend, Michele! I’m sure she will be touched by your gorgeous card!!
I’m so very sorry to hear about your friend, I love my grandmother to breast cancer five years ago, I know the ordeal your friend is now facing with chemo, and hopefully not radiation. My prayers are with her at this time. This is a beautiful card Michele, I’m sure she treasures your friendship.
Beautiful card! I’m sure she will love it and feel the love and concern you feel for her
My heart goes out to you and to your friend Michele! A beautiful card. I know it is sure to put a smile on her face. xx
Super card and am sure your support and friendship is much appreciated. The cards and support I received after my ops and radiation helped me through. I am now 2 years down the line. Girls, get the mammograms, mine was found through one and mercifully at an early stage, but its still frightening.
Michele, this card is beautiful! I’m sorry about the reason you had to make it, but I know it will lift your friend’s spirits. I’ll keep her in my prayers!
Your friend will appreciate this Michelle. It’s lovely! I need to send one to my friend too. :0(
Hi, Michele! They’re always prettier IRL, but I think this looks very soft and lovely here. I’m trying to picture it even softer and prettier…wow, it must really be dreamy and gorgeous. You’re a kind friend. I’ve stamped on Prism before and it didn’t disappear, but I used SU! ink. It wasn’t a whole background, though. Happy belated birthday!
Very pretty card Michele. I just got bad news about my friend with breast cancer, and I am going through the same emotions you are. You have inspired me to send her a card too. Thanks a bunch!
I’m so sorry for your friend Michele! Having had many family members battling some form of cancer or other, I know how devastating it can be. You are a real friend and I’m sure she appreciates your support. I’m sure she will love your card and I pray that whoever your friend is, that she will find strength to endure and there will be good news for her in the days to come.
This is so very pretty and I totally believe that it’s prettier irl. I hate when the photo doesn’t do the art justice! I am so very sorry for your friend. We have all been that person or have known that person and it’s truly a very scary time. She is fortunate to have you right now.
This is a GORGIOUS card!
Michele, this card is beautiful and I’m sure it will bring some comfort to your friend, knowing that you are thinking of her.
She has an amazing friend in you, so very thoughtful. I wish her well. Your card is lovely, I have a terrible time capturing a good photo with these colors too.
I’m so sorry about your friend. I’m sure she’ll feel the enormous love wrapped up in this gorgeous card.
Oh Michelle…my heart goes out to your friend…your thoughts of her and support are so significant….a gorgeous creation…I especially love the buttons!
