Just a little Zooper Fun

I was inspired by my friend, Jody, to play with some of my Kim Hughes sets.  I’ve used them for submissions but none just for fun…until today.  So here are a couple, just for the heck of it.  Both use Kim’s new Zooper Fun set.

You’re Zooper Fun

CHFOFP

I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the “You’re” (from Kim’s U R A Hoot set) in front of the rest of the sentiment.  Kim’s sets are so much fun to mix and match, images as well as sentiments.

Have a Zoo-riffic Day

Not much to say about this one other than that I colored the flourish with a brown Copic marker.  (And, hopefully, the bright colors didn’t hurt your eyes.)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Take Time for You

MFTTT

I used all products from the VIP Bundle and MFT Sketch #76.  (If you’re layout challenged like me, you can see all of the past MFT sketches here.)

MFTTTCUThere are two Who’s That Girl images in this set, one gal getting a manicure, the other a pedicure.  I’ve never had a pedicure but I’d love to try it sometime.  I’m not sure how I’d fare with the nail filing part of it.  I love manicures except for the filing.  All that scraping, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.. ***cringe***  I almost can’t tolerate it.

And while we’re talking about my weird little things, I’m sure my dear friend, Carole, will be surprised to see that I chose this image of the two as she knows how I feel about feet.  I’m ok with my own feet.  It’s other people’s feet that freak me out (most others).  But since this image was not one big foot (with a broken toe), I was fine.

As a reminder, the MFT Top 5 voting closes tonight at 10 p.m. EST so be sure to check out these ladies’ fabulous designs here and VOTE here

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!  🙂

What’s Up, Little Ben and Girl’s Night

Hi everyone.  This week’s spotlight with My Favorite Things has been moved to Wednesday so I hope you’ll come back for that!

I have a couple of things to share using two of the latest MFT releases.  I’m feeling a bit under the weather today so I will be brief.

What’s Up?

          MFTWU2

This card uses the new Ben Paper Dolls.  I stamped Ben, then stamped the outfit separately, colored and adhered over top.  (Same thing with the bird.)
Here’s to Good Friends

       TGFMFT

This is Girl’s Night Out.  I was hoping to “fancy it up” more, but I just don’t have the energy.  My main focus was playing around a bit with skin tones and my Copics.  I was inspired by Candice‘s fantastic tutorial here.   And it’s her birthday today so let’s wish her a very happy one!  🙂

Be sure to check out this week’s Bubble Bin for Flopsey, flowers and more!  Have a great day!

A Little Whipper with Heart

I have a stack of new stamps from Whipper Snapper through which I’m slowly making my way.  This little guy was in the pile.  I just adore him with his little heart strings.

From the Heart

WSFTH

He’s colored with Copics and his little heart is paper-pieced and raised on a pop dot.

WSMCUThe paper is by Pink Paislee (available at Jacksonbelle Embellishments) and is among my new favorites. (I know…I have a lot.  It’s a sickness.)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!  🙂

Just For Fun :)

It’s time for another challenge with the JiFFy Girls…Carole, Lori, Alli, Julie and me!  I look forward to this challenge every month.  One of us chooses paper and once it is en route to everyone, another of us reveals her choice of the image we are to use.  SO much fun!  🙂

This month Julie selected this adorable Sugar Nellie image, Day Dreamer, and for the paper Alli chose “Sliced Leek” (lol) from the Minestrone Collection by Jillabean Soup.

Hi

CHFOFP

I popped up my window, the girl and the flower in the girl’s hair.  The birds were colored and cut from vanilla cardstock and adhered over the “wallpaper” with the tails bent slightly forward.  I created a big “sunflower” using a felt flower button (from Ellen Hutson, LLC) and olive cardstock.  I was a bit stumped as to how to incorporate a sentiment so I made a little “hi” sign and tucked it into the window.

After making the card and finishing the inside, I had a bit of the paper left so I decided to make a coordinating envelope as well.

Be sure to check in with Carole, Lori, Alli and Julie to see what they’ve created using the same image and paper.  I can’t wait to see!

Weekly Spotlight 4/20-24

WSL

This week’s spotlight with My Favorite Things is on the Peerless Watercolors.

Your Spotlight Savings:  25% off all Peerless Watercolors (limited to in-stock items only).

Hey Chica, What’s Crackin?

      MFTWC

What are Peerless Watercolors?  Basically, it’s a piece of paper with a saturation of color on top.  You just snip off a small piece of the paper and add a bit of water to dissolve the color.  That’s it.  And a little goes a long way!  What I really like is that they don’t take up the room of so many pads of ink.  The colors come in a little tablet with instructions and lots of tips for layering colors.  I think it’s a great concept!

On Wednesday in the MFT HTDT (How’d They Do That) Forum there will be a tutorial on how to use the Peerless Watercolors so you can see them in action.

Don’t forget to check out the Bubble Bin this week for some great deals!  You never know what you’ll find!

Lastly, I’d like to take this opportunity to once again thank Elaine, one of my very nice blog readers, for sending me a new water brush.  It’s fabulous.  Thanks so much, Elaine!  🙂

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Same Paper Different Look

Here it is again…the same paper I used on my last post.  I used quite a bit of it here.  The image itself is somewhat large so my card ended up being 5 1/2″ x 6 1/2″.  The “jacks” pattern you see is the reverse side of the floral.  Had I planned ahead (which I hardly ever do), I could have cut that partial circle from the one “card size” piece and just added the layer of brown cardstock beneath the curve to hide the cut line.  Nonetheless, I’m happy with the result.  (And I really hope to find more of this paper somewhere.  So far though, I’ve had no luck, not even on-line.  Is it old?  Discontinued?  I’ve never bought paper in a store then not been able to find it on-line.  Strange.  **shrugging shoulders**)

Hello

    SNH

I looked at this image from Sugar Nellie so many times, trying to decide if I wanted it.  The only thing that held me back was it’s size (about 4 3/8″ x 5 1/8″) but I decided it was just too cute to pass up.

I’m off to enjoy this glorious weather (finally)!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  Sugar Nellie “Girl and Birdhouse”; Cornish Heritage Farms “Silhouette Blooms I” (Kim Hughes Collection)   Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black   Cardstock:  Prism Suede Brown Dark, Natural Smooth   Patterned Paper:  The Paper Loft Cosmic “Fusion”   Accessories:  Copic markers (E00, YR20, R20, YR31, YG91, YG95, E33, E57, E0000), EK Success slot and small oval punches, ribbon, buttons, white string.

A Big Thanks, Some Pics and a Sale

I needed two “Arizona-ish” thank you cards, one for my very generous and hospitable in-laws and the other for one of their friends who brought toys and games for the kids to play with while we were visiting.  It truly was a fabulous vacation and we’re looking forward to going back.

Muchas Gracias

MGInka

I used Inka’s Muchas Gracias which I purchased from Jacksonbelle Embellishments (whom, by the way, is having a 25% off EVERYTHING sale now through Monday.  Enter code SPRING09 -all uppercase- at check-out to receive your discount).  I popped up the little dog’s ears and paper-pieced the hat, cactus and pot.  I found the paper (by The Paper Loft) at a scrapbook store in Arizona.  I hope I can find more here!  I love that flower print (and you will see it again very soon on a different card).

Here are some pics from our trip.  You can click on the thumbnails for larger views.

Let’s Celebrate — Dino Style

It’s been a little while since I’ve played with my Whipper Snapper images.  Here’s a little birthday dino.

Let’s Celebrate

LCDWSD

I colored him with my Copics. (That seems to be my go-to method of coloring lately).  To get that “rough/worn” look, I colored over the dino and the pads of his feet with the colorless blender pen.  His eyes and nose were colored with a black 3-d gel pen, and I colored over the claws with a clear gel pen.  That’s it! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

An MFT Mid-Month Release Hop

Welcome to April’s mid-month release blog hop with My Favorite Things!   If you’re just popping in here, you might want to go back to the beginning with the MFT Lady herself, Kim.

There are two sets being released Wednesday, April 15th:  What a Girl Wants (designed by new MFT designer Amanda Baird) and Text Ya Later (from the BC Dzyns line).

OMG!

MFTOMG

Text Ya Later has some really cute sentiments, my favorite being the “omg!”  I’m not a big “text-er” like some of my friends (mostly because it isn’t included in my plan and I don’t have one of those cool iPhones which, from what I hear, makes texting so easy) so I asked one of my cool friends to translate a couple of the sentiments for me.  <3  (heart)    ily (i love you) were the only ones that had me scratching my head…but I’m not so cool so what can I say?   🙂  <–That’s one too!

These fun new sets are available now!  Here are the details:

First 50:  First 50 customers will receive a free Memento Dew Drop.

Hook-up:  Buy a set of 36 Ciao Copic markers on sale for $125 plus get a free pack of Perfect Panels with your order (24 sheets; value of $3.95).

Next on the hop list is my very cool and amazingly talented friend, Jody.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!
