Let’s Party! (or get some sleep)
TGIM. I’m not as chipper this morning as usual. I’ve had a headache since yesterday and I was awoken this morning (5:34 a.m. to be exact) by a woodpecker pounding on something metal right over my bedroom window. I must have a “Psychotic Birds Stop Here” sign on my house. Remember the Cardinal that followed me around last year…and the year before… pecking non-stop on my windows? (sigh) Anyway…
My nephew’s birthday was yesterday. I don’t have many stamps that work with a “teen boy” theme so this is what I came up with.
Let’s Party
I used several Kim Hughes sets to create my scene along with Cosmo’s Mr. Campy paper. I threw in a piece of Dutch Girl for the background.
The bluish-green is a pretty close match to one of the dots on the paper but of course I covered all of them so you can’t tell.
We bought my nephew a book from his Amazon list but wanted to give him a little extra something so I created a pocket on the inside to hold some money. If I’d had more time, I would have added a brown matting to the pocket and a thin strip
of brown paper across the top… like a teenage boy even cares…but I do.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll come back tomorrow for the My Favorite Things blog hop at 10 p.m. (EST). We have some fun new releases to share! (And don’t forget to check out that Bubble Bin! Have a great day!
Stamps: Cornish Heritage Farms “Bear Hugs,” “Birthday Bash,” “Summer Trees” and “U R A Hoot” (Kim Hughes Collection) Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black Cardstock: Prism Suede Brown Dark, Natural Smooth Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy and Dutch Girl Accessories: Copic markers (E33, E35, E37, E43, E57, YG95, R29, W1), hemp, Sakura 3-d black gel pen (on bear’s eye and nose), pop dots, sewing machine. Finished size: 5 ½” x 5 ½”.

I must have the same birds here…they tweet incessantly at 3 am. UGH
Love your card and that fun knot!!
You must definitely be a crazy birds magnet! I’m so sorry! This year it’s squirrels for me. They’re everywhere, eating everything in sight, hanging upside down on the bird feeders, and looking at me like I’m crazy when I try to chase them away. Darn critters!
Your boy card is wonderful! Love how you tied the twine and all your dimension!
very cute- this is a great teen boy card!
That is ADORABLE! SO SO cute!
Oh how cute is this!!!!!!!!!!!
Oooo, I like this card! And your nephew will, too, especially with that green peeking out of the inside! LOL
But seriously - what a neat card!
Oh no! That crazy woodpecker! You know, they do that to attract a mate…the loudest sound they can make…so if he finds a woman soon he shouldn’t be back! I had a similar issue a few weeks ago with Canada Geese. One was on the roof of my garage and the other on my neighbors roof and they called back and forth for what seemed forever. I am sure the neighbors think I am nuts-standing outside in my pj’s yelling at them and trying to scare them away!
Now, about your card-it’s ADORABLE! Your nephew will love it-especially if he doesn’t notice that missing brown mat on the inside, lol! Really he will just be looking at the cash! Love it! Hope your headache goes away soon! Hugs!
Hi Michele! Cute card. Love that money holder!
Love this card Michele! Fabulous!
OOOH, Love this card, so adorable…great idea with the pocket on the inside….sorry about the crazy bird!!!
Cute CUTE card! That is a cool knot you made there! Love the scene, and fun way to do the money. My brother builds house’s and he hadn’t been to one for awhile…well guess what tore up a bunch of the house…4 woodpeckers! LOL (sorry)
on the Cardinal, eek!
Oh my goodness, Michele!! Totally cute scene you’ve created here…and I love all of your dimension!!
