Chocolate Kisses and Bunny Hugs

Hi everyone!  Thanks for the well wishes regarding my back.  After an hour and 40 minutes in the doctor’s office, I left with three prescriptions and two totally frazzled children.  All in all, they were very good considering they had no choice but to come along.  It helped a bit that there was some excitement while in the waiting room.  There was an accident at the intersection just outside the office.  Luckily we didn’t see it happen and no one was seriously injured, but they enjoyed the commotion…and I enjoyed the brief reprieve from “Mom, he touched me.”  “Mom, tell her to stop breathing on me.”  “He’s looking at me.”  “She keeps poking me.”  Three more weeks….(I love my children, I really do, but they bicker non-stop and it drives me right up the wall and down the other side.)

This week’s spotlight with My Favorite Things is on the ribbon collections.   I’m anxious to play with the new Halloween ribbons but in the meantime, I’ve used one of my favorites, the 1″ green saddle-stitch from the Winter Solstice “nest.”

Wouldn’t it be nice to kick back, put your feet up, box of chocolates in your lap…  Yeah, that never happens for me.

I really like this Flopsey Chocolate Bunny, and I like how my bow turned out, but it’s not really a bow.

MFTBHCUI cut the ribbon so that it was about an inch or so longer than the width of the card.  I attached the right end (only) to the back of the patterned paper and  draped the ribbon across the paper from right to left.  Next I took a separate length of ribbon and folded it back and forth (like those hard candies) until it resembled a bow once the center was pinched together.  (Does that make sense?)  The end you see sticking out on the left is the long piece that lays across the card.  I used the button and jute string to hold the ribbon together, stitching it directly to the paper.

The whole front panel is adhered to the card using pop dots.

I finally broke down and ordered the full set of circle Nestabilities. I just couldn’t take the plain circles any more…or the limited sizes I’m currently able to cut.  So for now, just pretend there is a pretty scalloped border around my bunny, ok?

Be sure to check out this week’s Bubble Bin and Jody’s tutorial on how to make the most of your August MFT kit (tutorial here…that Jody, she’s a clever one).

Oh, and my layout is from Mojo Monday‘s Week 96.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!
