Let the (MFT) Previews Begin!

My Favorite Things has quite a few (and fabulous) number of releases for November.  Each day leading up to the release on Wednesday, November 4th, members of the design team will be previewing different sets.  (A different set each day.)  Today we are previewing Polar Love

You Warm my Heart

           MFTWMHG2

I first stamped my image and sentiment onto white cardstock, colored, then paper-pieced the scarves and heart.  I used my circle Nestabilities to cut and emboss the white circle (3 3/4″) then randomly inserted tiny white brads to resemble falling snow.

For the card base, I folded my cardstock as usual (typical A2 card size), then used my Creative Memories circle cutter to cut the round part of the card shape, only cutting around the left and right sides.  The base was just kind of eyeballed and marked with a pencil, then cut with my paper cutter.  The white circle was then matted onto a 4″ red circle and that piece was adhered to the card front using dimensional boosters.

Also previewing this set today are Barbara, Frances, Jessie, Joanne, Cindy, Natalie, Susan, Cindy and Amy.  Check them out!  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!  If you celebrate Halloween, have a safe one!

More Kraftin’ Kimmie Previews

TGIF!  🙂

Today I have samples using two of Kraftin’ Kimmie’s new animal images for November.  They aren’t my normal style of image so I’m not sure if they are really “me.”  (But I like the penguin best.)

Just Chillin’

          ofp

This is Oliver (and his accompanying sentiment) …Although today his name might be Olivia.  Do real penguins wear pink?  I don’t know.  Anyway, I paper-pieced his/her hat and cup, using an opaque white pen to color the marshmallows.

You’re Snow Sweet!

           KKYSS350

And this is Bernadette.  I decided to leave her white so there is very little coloring here.  I outlined her just a bit using an Eggshell Copic.

Check out Kim’s blog and those of her design team for more previews.   🙂   The release and blog hop are Sunday, November 1st, midnight!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

You Make Me Happy

     KKYMMH

Here I’ve used Antoinette, a new image from the Moonlight Whispers line.  I colored her with Copics and added the little swoosh mark by her one foot.  She’s very happy, you know.  🙂

The sentiment is from Kimmie’s Everyday Sentiments.

Be sure to check out Kim’s fab design team for more previews.  (You can find everyone listed on Kim’s blog here.)

SYTYCS Contest, Week 4 Hip Hop and a Special

Hi everyone!  )

It’s Week 4 of My Favorite Things’ So You Think You Can Stamp contest.  This week’s theme is “Hip Hop.  Make it pop!”

Straight from the Carton Kind of Day

ofp

I was a little stumped this week.  After giving the challenge some thought, my idea was to create a monochromatic/somewhat colorless background with parts of the image “popping” with color.  In addition to the color pop, I decided to “pop up” the girl’s pant leg and arm with small pieces of dimensional boosters.

If you’d like to play along, you can check out all the contest rules and details HERE

All entries for this week’s theme must be uploaded to SCS by Monday, November 2nd.  Be sure to check out the details.  There are a few specifics you’ll need to know.  Let’s see your hip hop projects!  )

My Little To-Do Notebook

Hi everyone.  I have another little altered notebook to share today.

One Day at a Time    GFODAAT

I picked up a couple of these little “travel-themed” note pads at Michaels for $1 each.  They are SUPER fast to alter.  The notepad is only 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ so it’s the perfect size for using scraps (which is what I did here).   A small strip of the striped patterned paper was the perfect size for covering the pen.

I colored and cut out The Greeting Farm’s Laundry image, adhering it over a bit of crocheted trim (gift from my friend, Jody).

The sentiment, which I think is the perfect companion to this image, is part of the Encouragement Expressions set by Cornish Heritage Farms.

This was so quick and easy to alter.  I may go back and get a few more.   🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Stamps:  The Greeting Farm “HG Laundry”, Cornish Heritage Farms “Encouragement Expressions” (Mona Lisa Moments)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black   Cardstock: Prism Natural Smooth   Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket Early Bird Mini Deck   Accessories:  Michael’s note pad, Copic markers (E000, E00, E21, E31, E33, E35, E50, YR23, YR31, YG63, BG09, BG01, BG0000, R14, R17, W1, W3), Spare Parts trim, buttons, white string, Fiskars Rotary trimmer/scallop blade, corner rounder.

Bippity Bopitty Boo to You

Hi everyone!  I have a couple of quick Whipper Snapper Halloween samples I thought I better share before the month gets away from me.  (I can’t believe it’s the end of the month already! Gads!)

Bippity Bopitty Boo

           WSDBBBCW

Here I’ve used Chicken Witch.  Anna’s images crack me up.  Really, who else would think to give a chicken a witch hat and a broom? 🙂  The sentiment is from Anna’s Spooky Expressions cling mount set.  The paper is new-ish Pink Paislee from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.

Happy Halloween

    WSDHHGB

This little guy is Moon Balloon Ghost with sentiment from Anna’s Hocus Pocus cling mount set.  The fun Halloween paper is from Basic Grey‘s Eerie paper pad.

I’m gearing up for a very busy next couple of weeks with lots of fun new releases from Kraftin’ Kimmie and My Favorite Things!  I’m really excited about both!   …Beginning Thursday!  🙂   🙂   🙂

Friendship Perks

Hi everyone.  Just a super-quick post today.  I’ve been really busy and have quite the list of things to do yet again today.

Friendship has its Perks

MFTBGFP

Here I’ve used one of My Favorite Things latest releases, In the Background.   No patterned paper here. (Shocking for me.  Patterned paper has spoiled me.)

I stamped the tea pot onto a cream Perfect Panel, then onto an Eclipse Masking sheet.  I used the negative from the masking sheet to mask off the space around the tea pot.  I was then able to randomly stamp the flower.

MFTBGPIN<–A simple finish to the inside.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great Saturday!

Stamps:  MFT “In the Background,” sentiment from “Coffee, Tea WTG”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Desert Sand   Cardstock: Prism Suede Brown Dark, MFT Cream Perfect Panel   Accessories:  Copic markers (E11, E21, E57, W1), Eclipse masking sheet,  ribbon, button, cream jute string, dimensional boosters, Martha Stewart border punch, corner rounder.  Finished size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.

Thoughts of You

Hi everyone.  🙂

I’ve finally gotten around to coloring a C.C. Designs digi-image I purchased a while ago.   (I still have one more.)

Thoughts of You

     CCDTOY

This is Heidi among the Flowers from the Swiss Pixie collection.  I think they’re all so cute.  I may need another!

I used one of my few remaining felt stitched flowers and some crocheted lace trim sent to me by my brad-loving buddy, Jody.  😉

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Digi-image:  C.C. Designs “Heidi among the Flowers”    Stamp:  Cornish Heritage Farms “Tag! You’re It!” (Kim Hughes CollectionInk: Memento Tuxedo Black   Cardstock: Prism Suede Brown Dark, Super Smooth White   Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket Earth Love”   Accessories: Copic markers (E000, E00, R20, E31, E33, YR23, YG06, R14, R17, Y0000, W00, W1, W3), felt flower by We R Memory Keepers, SU button, Papertrey Ink cream jute string, Spare Parts by Paper Studio crocheted trim.  Finished size 5” x 5”.

SYTYCS Contest, Week 3 Waltz

Hi everyone!  🙂

It’s Week 3 of My Favorite Things’ So You Think You Can Stamp contest.  This week’s theme is the waltz.    It’s elegant and flowing, romantic and classic.  What’s your take?

Love is Timeless

     MFTLITL
My sample this week is once again pretty simple.  I used the heart from MFT’s Boho Blossoms to create the pattern on natural cardstock (which looks white here but isn’t).  The stamped panel is matted onto a block of black cardstock and then raised on dimensional boosters atop the card base.  (It’s always a challenge for me to photograph so that a “same color” top layer can be seen.)

If you’d like to play along, you can check out all the contest rules and details HERE

All entries for this week’s theme must be uploaded to SCS by Monday, October 26.  Be sure to check out the details.  There are a few specifics you’ll need to know.  I can’t wait to see your romantic projects!  )

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Stamps:  MFT “Boho Blossoms”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black   Cardstock: Prism Black, Natural Smooth   Accessories:  MFT ribbon, Bow Easy.   Finished size 4 1/4” x 5 1/2″.

Is that a cupcake on your head?

Hi everyone!  I hope you had a great weekend!  Our company has arrived, but we’ve been mostly hanging around the house.  It’s been cold and rainy here.  Ick.   It looks like tomorrow will finally be a better day.

Here’s a birthday card I made for a friend.

Happy Birthday

     SBCCH

This is another of the Stamping Bella images I’ve had for quite a while and just never got around to using.  Finally…inked!  Once the card was complete, I very lighted applied Cupcake Card Scents around the edges.  Oh my gosh…this card smelled soooo good!  (I got mine from All That Scraps.  It looks like they no longer have that fragrance.  🙁  But there are others! Check them out here.  I wonder if April Fresh smells like Downy…or if Monkey really smells like a monkey. Bwahahahaha.  Ew.)

That’s all from me today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!
