Swingin’ Oliver

Today’s challenge at Kraftin’ Kimmie’s Challenge Blog is to make a Christmas or winter themed project.  Easy enough, right?

Just Chillin’ (and Swingin’)

         KKOSW1

I used Oliver.  And made my first swing card.

KKOSW2The tiny brad in the center of the cup on the left is what allows the top portion to swing.  The bottom (red) panel is only adhered to the brown base at the bottom.  And the penguin piece is adhered to the green patterned panel only at the top.  The tiny brad holds everything together.

To hide the back of the brad, I inserted it through all layers except the brown base.  Double-sided (or red-line) tape holds the cream panel to the brown base.

The brown brads in the upper left corner only go through the green LLOSW3patterned paper so the backs do show but only if you turn the card over while the piece is flipped.

The penguin panel does swing all the way down so there’s plenty of room for a note.

If you’d like to play along with the challenge, you can find the info HERE.   Be sure to link your Christmas/winter project on the challenge blog because one random participant will receive a free Bernadette stamp.  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!
