My cards are finally done. I still need to sign and address them, but I’m so glad the mass production portion of the task has ended. Unfortunately, my left wrist has taken the brunt of it. I have this annoying tingling sensation. I’ve had it before and it eventually goes away, but in the meantime it drives me nuts. But the cards are done and that’s what matters most (right now).
Sweetest Holiday Wishes
Because I needed to make 40, my goal was to keep the cards fairly simple. They ended up being not quite as simple as I had planned, but that’s ok. Since I wanted to use Papertrey Ink’s Holiday Button Bits (and because I was running out of time), I decided to check their gallery for some inspiration. In my search, I found this card by Niki Estes. Obviously I changed some things, but I thought her card was cute and went from there.
As Nicki did, I used Liquid Applique for the “icing” on the gingerbread man. And although it goes against my own personal rules to use buttons without string of some kind, I could not bring myself to thread 80 buttons (!), so they’re naked and I’m fine with that. 🙂
These will mostly go to family and family friends. I have some others I’ll be sending out as well. (…Others of which I did NOT make 40.)
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!
