Hoo-Ray! MFT Preview #1!

Today brings Day 1 of the MFT January release previews and I’m SO excited!  Today the team is sharing designs using a new digi-release and Thinking of Hoo, a set previously available in a kit but soon to be released on its own.   I used the cute little owl.  🙂

Hoo-Ray!  (Hoo-ray, I finally got my photos posted! Thanks, Pam!!)

I used my new Origins paper by Basic Grey.  (Love it!)  I stamped the owl image onto the green grid pattern, then stamped the thought bubble onto a swirly green print and paper-pieced it over the grid.  I colored the image, drew in a little string and added letter flags, popping up the bottoms of each triangle with tiny bits of pop dots.  The owl’s eyes were dotted with a 3-d black gel pen for a nice shiny appearance.

I carried the patterned papers to the inside of the card, sat the owl along the top edge of the black print and then added the stitching.  The sentiment is from MFT’s Essential Sentiments.

Be sure to check out Kim’s blog HERE (after 11 a.m.) for direct links to other designer blogs and samples.  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Stuck with Me

We’re back to the challenges this week with Kraftin’ Kimmie and this time it’s my turn to host.  I’m challenging everyone to paper-piece.  (Shocking, I know.)   Anyone can play along, but if you use a KK stamp and link to the challenge blog HERE, you could win a free Drucilla stamp.  (You can see some super-sneaky peeks of Kimmie’s January releases there too.)

You’re Stuck with Me

I paper-pieced Drucilla’s dress, doll and the doll’s heart, colored the remainder of the image with Copics and added some grass using Prismacolor pencils.  Dots of orange glaze pen created some shiny 3-d pin heads.

One final thing before I go, be sure to send a warm welcome to Melanie Holtz and Donna Wardle, Kraftin Kimmie’s guest designers for January, February and March.  We’re so excited to have them join us.  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!
