A Blog Hop & Shop with My Favorite Things

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the My Favorite Things February release blog hop!  If you’re just popping in here, you may want to go back to the beginning with Kim.  We have lots of new sets this month so I don’t want you to miss anything.  If you’ve just come from Barbara, then you’re in the right place.

Also remember, there is blog candy hidden somewhere along the way so be sure to leave lots of comments to increase your chances of winning!

You Make the Grade

    MFTOFP

Today I’ve used this sweet, sweet new set, You Make the Grade from the Pure Innocence line.  I stamped the image onto a cream MFT Perfect Paper Panel (love those!) paper-pieced an argyle sweater onto the girl and drew in little socks.

To add a bit of dimension, I inserted two tiny brads on the easel.  I popped up the focal panel as well as the entire front panel.  Popping up the whole front panel allows me to wrap twill or ribbon and accommodate other items on the back without the card bulging in weird places.  Plus I like bulky cards.  🙂

This adorable set comes with the image and sentiment shown as well as an A+ (shown on the inside of my card) for only $9.

You can find all of the new releases (including some new products) right HERE, right now.  But first hop on over to see what fabulousness FRANCES has to share!

Thank you so much for all of the comments on my preview cards for this release.  I really appreciate it!

Thanks for stopping by!   Have a GREAT night/day!  🙂

MFT Previews – Day 5

It’s the final day of previews of My Favorite Things February releases!  Today we’re sharing samples using the last three new sets, Lovin’ from the Oven (WTG), Clearly Sentimental About Food and Clearly Sentimental About You

I don’t know that I’ve ever used a sentiment as my focal point (maybe once?) so I’m not sure if I even pulled this off, but I chose to use Clearly Sentimental About You.  I am not a mushy/romantic person …at all.  Ask my husband, poor guy.  But I especially loved this sentiment.

Perfectly Imperfect Person

I used my favorite of this year’s Valentine paper, Be Loved by My Mind’s Eye and I created three smaller versions of “Mercy Flowers.”  (That’s what I’m calling them.)  She (Mercy) has a great tutorial found here.  She used SU’s scalloped circle punch but I wanted my flowers a bit smaller so I used her same instructions but McGill’s Multi Flowers (previously “Baby Blooms”) and Petite Flowers (previously Petite Petals) punches. MFTIPPFL

The flowers were very easy to make (thanks to Mercy’s tutorial).  I’m sure I’ll be making more.

I used a second sentiment from the Clearly Sentimental About You set on the inside leaving plenty of room for a pukey love note (lol).  (I say that “semi-” jokingly.  😉 )
