A DIE-NAMIC Peek!

TGIF!  🙂

The My Favorite Things design team is so excited to be sharing samples today using a brand new MFT product which will be available for purchase Wednesday, May 5th (along with lots of other fun, new things)!

            DLSM

DIE-NAMICS!   Border dies and more!  This month we have a jumbo scalloped border (which I *love*), a scalloped scallop border and a trio of CLOUDS!  Eek!  I cannot wait to get those clouds.

Miss You Much

     MFTMYMJ

Here I’ve used one of last month’s releases, Sitting Pretty, from MFT’s Jolinne line.  I paper-pieced her dress and colored in the rest with Copics.

I die-cut the bottom edge of the pink card base using the following stack in my Cuttlebug:  A Plate, C Plate, die (face up), cardstock and one B Plate.  Smooth sailing, right through the rollers!  Next I die cut a scrap of denim from a worn pair of my son’s jeans using the same stack combo.  I ran the denim through twice, just to be sure I had a good, clean cut.  It was perfect.  No little strings and no clean-up with the scissors.   I’ve been wanting a big/wide scallop die and now I have one!  YAY!

After I cut the denim, I ran it through my Xyron and then adhered it to my die-cut card base.  🙂

This month’s releases include:

DNS  JUMBO SCALLOP, $10.95

DNSS  SCALLOPED SCALLOPS, $10.95

DNC  And CLOUD TRIO, $14.95  🙂

The design team has used quite an assortment of materials with their Die-namics, so be sure to check out Kim’s blog HERE after 11 a.m. EST for direct links to their samples.  You can also see samples HERE on Splitcoast.  (This month’s VIP customers received a free Die-namics die-cut with their order and will be uploading to this gallery as well, keyword dienamics.  Once you get yours, feel free to add in also!)  We’re so excited about this new product.  We think you will be too!

May release previews begin tomorrow so I’ll be back for the next several days with new things to share!  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Feel Better Soon

Good  morning.    I don’t know why but I seem to be in slow motion today.  I wasn’t up any later than usual.  I’m just…tired.  And my coffee seems weak.  Bleh!  So if my fingers end up on the wrong keys and I’m typing junk, I’ll come back later and fix it, ok?  🙂

Feel Better Soon

   SBFBSI

I’m trying to use up a big ol’ pile of scraps I’ve saved. I’m also trying to create some general-themed cards to have on hand when needed.  I have wayyy too  many cards lying around here.  (I really need to start my own Etsy store or something.)  But I never seem to have get well, sympathy or general birthday cards.  So this is my beginning.

SBFBICUI used my favorite new Stamping Bella character, Izzie.  (I still have more I have not yet inked…that’s another mission.)  I colored her with Copics, added ground and shading with pencils and used a strip of scalloped sticker along the bottom from Cosmo’s Girl Friday collection.  I “stamp-a-ma-jigged” the sentiment onto the lined paper and added some scrappy (messy) stitching.

I must drag myself upstairs to get the kids ready for school.   I’ll be back Friday with a My Favorite Things peek at a brand new product.  I think you’ll like it.  I sure do!  🙂

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Millie and CPS

TGIM!  🙂

This week’s sketch at Card Positioning Systems is being sponsored by My Favorite Things.  I created a skinny little card using the sketch and MFT’s Millie the Mouse.

You Make Me Smile

                     MFTYMMH

My card is 3 1/4″ x 6 1/4″ so it will fit into one of the standard (smaller, #6 3/4) envelopes.

I cut a triangle of orange cardstock and punched two different sized circles to resemble the cheese.

MFTYMMHINIf you’d like a chance to win a prize from My Favorite Things, check out the CPS post here for details.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Flower Power with Kraftin’ Kimmie

Hi everyone!  I’m back today with a sample for Kraftin’ Kimmie‘s weekly challenge.  Andrea is having us use lots of flowers.  Since I’m pretty “flower-challenged,” I decided to use the minimum (which is three).

You Make Me Happy

        ofp

Here I’ve used one of Kimmie’s latest releases, You Make Me Happy (from the Cindy & Mindy line).

I paper-pieced the little girl’s dress and bow and then got lucky with a good color match using a marker for her shoes.

The flowers are my very, very favorite burlap Prima’s from my good friend, Jody.

Be sure to pop on over to the Krafty Challenge Blog to see more design team samples!  Plus we have a very talented special guest sticking around for a while.  Go check her out!  🙂

As always, if you’d like to play along, be sure to post a link on the challenge blog for your chance to win a free Kraftin’ Kimmie stamp!

A Quick Birthday Greeting

Hellooooo!   🙂

My nephew’s birthday was last week.  I thought I’d share a quick little card I made for him.   I don’t have a lot of “young boy-ish” stamps, but after digging through my stash, I decided on this cute koala from Whipper Snapper.

Let’s Party

        WSDLP

I recently went through my ridiculous amount of patterned paper, deciding what to keep, what to give away, what to toss.  Within that WSDLPINmess, I found a few pieces of Bella Blvd “Super Stud” (lol) paper that I thought would work well with this little guy.  Nice bright colors without being girly.  🙂

I used more of the striped scraps on the inside and left plenty of room for everyone to sign (and draw silly pictures).

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back Saturday morning with a Kraftin’ Kimmie challenge sample.  Have a great day!

Stamps:  Whipper Snapper Designs “Party Koala”; Cornish Heritage Farms “Birthday Bash” (Kim Hughes Collection)  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Cardstock: Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate, Stampers Select White  Patterned Paper: Bella Blvd “Super Stud”  Accessories:  Copic markers (E33, E35, E57, B24, B29, E08, YR23, YG93, YG95, Y0000), Prismacolor pencils, brads, dimensional boosters.  Finished size 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.

Friendship is a Sheltering Tree

   MFTFT

I stamped and colored my tree onto cream cardstock, cut it out, adhered onto the cloud paper and then stamped the leaves directly onto the MFTSTCUcloud print.

The owls were stamped and colored onto cream cardstock as well.

The flowers are made of foam and were originally a pale green. I colored over them with an olive Copic, adhered each one to the front panel with the brads and then added thin strips of brown cardstock to create the stems and leaves.

April’s JiFFy

Hi everyone!  It’s time for April’s JiFFy challenge with my JiFFy friends!  I know it seems like we just did this, but last month’s was a bit late and this month’s is a bit early.  🙂

It was Alli’s turn to choose the paper and she selected these gorgeous new Quite Contrary patterns by My Mind’s Eye.  I can’t get enough of it!  (I love MME.)  It was my turn to choose the image so once the paper was on the way to everyone, I revealed that I had chosen Stamping Bella ‘s Izzie Has a Daisy.  When I first saw Izzie, I knew that when it was my turn to choose the image for our challenge, I’d choose one of her.  She’s SO sweet!  🙂

Hello

          SBHID

After coloring Izzie with markers, I added some dots to her dress using a white opaque pen.  A black 3-d glaze pen added some glossy buttons to her jacket.

I finally decided to stop hoarding the velvet flowers and used one here.  To add little “leaves”, I looped two scraps of ribbon and tucked them beneath the flower, securing with glue dots.

Be sure to hop on over to see what the other JiFFy girls did using this same pretty paper and image!

Warm Wishes

It’s the weekend!  Hooray!   We have company coming for dinner tomorrow so I thought I ought to post now rather than wait.  You know…clean, cook, blah, blah, blah.  It’ll be fun though.  🙂

I took some images and markers along with me on vacation and I’m just now getting around to finishing the cards.  One is this adorable image from Belles n’ Whistles by Elisabeth Bell (sent to me by one of my all-time favorite stampers, Tammi…she is such an inspiration).

Warm Wishes

    SNWW2

I adore this little girl with her little apple bowl.    So sweet!

SNWWCUAs always, I used Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  I don’t know why, but I always like coloring hair.  Too bad I can’t color my own hair!  Ha!  (That would be a nightmare.)

I tried to give this a bit of a scrappy feel by adding all the zig-zag stitching.  Another of my favorite things to do is add bits of zig-zag here and there as I did around the girl.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back on Monday with this month’s JiFFy challenge!  Have a fabulous weekend!

Perk Up

Hi everyone!  It’s actually Tuesday night as I’m typing. I’m preposting this entry for tomorrow (today/Wednesday for you) in a bit of a hurry.  I’ve been busy helping my fourth grader with a mountain of math homework (his least favorite) and it’s a “must-see” tv night…American Idol, Lost and, finally, the season premier of Deadliest Catch.  (I’ve been impatiently awaiting the return of Deadliest Catch, but I heard some very sad news this morning regarding that show….I think it will be difficult to watch, knowing what’s coming.)  I also have some prep work to do yet for my daughter’s afterschool scrapbook meeting tomorrow.  Eek!  🙂

Kraftin’ Kimmie is this week’s sponsor at Card Positioning Systems and so I have a quick little sample to share.  Well, the coloring was not so quick, but I love having a layout right there to work with.  Layouts are always my biggest struggle.

Perk Up

    KKPUC3

I chose my favorite Kraftin’ Kimmie image, Charlotte from the Moonlight Whispers line.  She’s colored in with Copics and then I added ground/grass with Prismacolor pencils.  The paper is new from My Mind’s Eye Quite Contrary line.  I picked up a bit in Arizona but now I wish I’d gotten more. I **love** it.

KKPUC3I used Charlotte’s little accompanying ragdoll image and a phrase from Kimmie’s Coffee Sentiments to complete the inside.

Be sure to check out the CPS blog!  I believe there will be a prize to be won.  And Kimmie is giving away an extra dose of Kimmie stamps if you use the CPS sketch, KK stamps and link to CPS and the KK challenge blog.   You can find those details here  (after 7 a.m. EST).

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!   🙂

         ofp

This little dragon fellow comes with two really cute sentiments, “You Slay Me” and “Time’s a Dragon Without You.”  I decided to split and reverse the sentiment, saving the pun for the inside.

Your next stop along the hop is with MAGNIFICIENT MELANIE!  I’m sure she has something to share that will blow your socks off!

One final note before you hop away, Kraftin’ Kimmie is this week’s sponsor at Card Positioning Systems.  Be sure to check out the fab sketch this week!
