My Favorite Things Previews, Day 4

If you’re a fan of the Pure Innocence line by My Favorite Things then you know today is PI Monday…or Pure Innocence Preview Day!   This month we have three new totally adorable sets featuring that sweet little girl we’ve all grown to know and love.  Mud Buddies is a super cute  gardening themed set, Lollipop Girl is so very sweet (of course!) and A Cart Full of Friends is adorably supportive.

I’m Pulling for You

    MFTPFY

Of the three new sets, I had to use this one first.  I love the little Cart Full of Friends (and the sentiments).

I paper-pieced the girl’s outfit, stamping her sleeve and arm a second time onto cream cardstock and dotted paper.  When I cut out the arm, I also cut out most of the sleeve so that when I adhered the dotted sleeve over top, there was a nice layered effect, kind of like popping up the sleeve without really popping it up.

Along the side I used MFT’s new Jumbo Scallop Die-namics border die.

For more samples using this set as well as the other two new Pure Innocence sets, please check out Kim’s blog HERE after 11 a.m. for direct links.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  And Happy Memorial Day to all of my American friends!!  Please remember to take a moment to think of those who have served and are serving our country.   We are so very grateful for their commitment and dedication.

My Favorite Things Previews, Day 3

Hi everyone!  Today the My Favorite Things design team is previewing three more fun new sets:  Fred Bear and the Butterfly, Emma Blowing Kisses and Wyatt says WOW!  I chose Emma Blowing Kisses, but my Emma is blowing something else…chunks.  (Sorry!)

Get Well Soon

    MFTEBC

Maybe the fact that my daughter has had tummy issues has something to do with my line of thinking (because I never would have come up with something like this otherwise Rolling Eyes).  But when I saw Emma’s hand in front of her mouth, all I could think about was sickness.  So I decided to make a get well card.

MFTEBEBCUI used MFT’s new Cloud Trio Die-namics, paper-pieced Emma’s outfit and colored her cheeks just a little green.  I wanted to give her a little more of a tint but I was afraid if I did too much, she’d look like she was from another planet.

The sentiment is from MFT’s “Best Medicine” set (Pure Innocence line).

To see more samples using this set as well as the other two, check out Kim’s blog HERE after 11 a.m. EST for direct links.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

My Favorite Things Previews, Day 2

Hello!  🙂

Today the My Favorite Things design team is previewing three new sets, Baby Makes Three, Thanks a Bunch and What a Day.  I decided to use Thanks a Bunch because it has a lot of fabulous sentiments which can be pieced together for different occasions…Thanks for being there, for your friendship, your hospitality, making me smile, for being you, etc.  I’ll be using this one a lot!

Thanks …for making me smile

    MFTTFMMS

I stamped the first part of my sentiment onto the twill and used MFT’s new Jumbo Scallop Die-namics along the bottom.  I really liked the look of Joanne‘s layered scalloped print (seen here) so I thought I’d give it a whirl.

I created the turquoise “washer” for my flower center by first punching a 1/2″ circle, then a 3/4″ around the 1/2″ hole.

MFTTMMSINI did the same thing for the flower on the inside but used 1/4″ and 1/2″ punches.

On another note, Barbara and I are this month’s hostesses for MFT’s June Guest Designer Contest.  If you’d like a chance to receive all of our July releases, post previews and hop with us during our July Hop & Shop, you can find all the contest details HERE.

For direct links to more samples highlighting today’s three new release sets, please check out Kim’s blog HERE after 11 a.m. EST.

I’ll be back tomorrow with another preview.  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Roughing it up…just a bit

Hello.  🙂  Time for another challenge with Kraftin’ Kimmie.  This week Krista has asked us to Rough it Up…distress or add texture of some kind to our creations.  I’m afraid I wasn’t all that adventurous this week.  I added just a bit of distressing around my edges.

Love is in the Air

    KKLIITA

Here I’ve used You Lift Me Up from Kimmie’s Cindy & Mindy collection.  After coloring my image, I die-cut around it, leaving the bears little legs to dangle a bit past the edge.

KKLIITAINOn the inside, I used some of the leftover strips of patterned paper.  I just can’t toss them and it’s the perfect place to put them to good use.

To see more design team samples for this challenge, and for your chance to win a free stamp from Kraftin’ Kimmie, check out the Krafty Blog HERE.

My Favorite Things, Die-namics Preview

Hello!  Today the My Favorite Things design team is previewing the new Die-namics releases.  I think you’re going to like them!  🙂

Happy Birthday

   MFTOFP

See that big teal ric rac?   I die-cut cardstock using MFT’s new Jumbo Ric Rac Die-namics.  It’s impossible to see in this photo, but I also used the new Ribbon RE:Creations Grosgrain Texture Board which gives the cardstock the exact texture of grosgrain ribbon.  I cut the ric rac piece first, then ran it through my Cuttlebug a second time using the texture board.  Here’s a close-up (before it was attached to my card):

More Mo

Hi everyone.  🙂  I have a second design today from Mo’s Digital Pencil.  I’ve seen this image around for a while and finally decided I wanted it.  Maybe it’s the warmer summer days, I don’t know.  🙂

Thoughts of You

   MMTOY

This one is called “End of Summer.”   So carefree.  So sweet.  Kind of reminds me of my daughter.

MMTOYCUShe was fun to color.  As always, I used mostly markers with a bit of pencil on the ground.

Tomorrow begins previews of June My Favorite Things releases!  I hope you’ll check back!  Lots of fun things coming!  🙂

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Scoot on Over Here

Hello.  🙂

Yesterday I decided I better stamp something using my latest Unity kit (before the next one comes).

Scoot on Over Here

    USOOH

I love this little scooter.  The accompanying sentiments are adorable!  I stamped the scooter onto red “patterned” paper, popped up the fender and colored in the flowers with a white pen.  The little heart brads were originally pink.  I colored them with a black Copic.

USOINEven though I was a bit afraid this card was a tad too girly, I gave it to my husband yesterday for our anniversary.  (He said it was cute but he did point out that he would not ride a scooter with flowers on it.  lol.  Honestly, I can’t picture him on a scooter at all.  But he liked it.)

Since I was getting down to the wire in finishing this in time, I kept the inside super simple.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

It’s JiFFy Time!

Hi everyone!  It’s time for another challenge with my JiFFy girlfriends!

For the paper, this month Lori chose “In Love” from the So Sophie Collection by My Mind’s Eye.  Love it!   (But then I think I love just about everything by MME.)  Once the paper was selected and on it’s way to everyone, Kim revealed that she had chosen Tweeny Tween Rock On from My Favorite Things’ Pure Innocence line.  It’s every bit as cute as the little PI girls!!

You Rock My Socks

    ofp

I paper-pieced the beanbag and the girl’s pants and colored the rest with markers.  This was my first attempt at the wonky ruffled trim so I’m not sure if it worked or not.  I think it looks ok.  Maybe.

I stamped the sentiment on the inside then stamped the girl using Ranger Antique Linen Distress ink, stamping off first onto scrap paper.  (Those lines below her are part of the patterned paper.  They aren’t stamped lines.  I know it looks a bit weird with her legs just above those at the bottom.)

Be sure to check out what the other girls did with this same paper and image!  As always, I can’t wait to see for myself!  I always look so forward to this “challenge.”  It is Just For Fun!  🙂

Carole Burrage

Lori’s schedule got kind of wacky and she was unable to post today.  She’ll be around next week with her JiFFy card so I hope you’ll check back for that.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

A Challenge with Charm

Happy Saturday!  🙂  Time for a challenge with Kraftin Kimmie!

This week Tara has challenged the Krafty Girls to add a charm to our cards and/or projects.  So…put on your sunglasses.

Have a Sunny Day

    KKSD

This is Mae from Kraftin Kimmie’s May release (Mae from May 🙂 ).  I colored her with markers then paper-pieced her suit.  Paper is new DeLovely from Cosmo Cricket and the layout is from an older Mojo Monday sketch.

There aren’t enough hours in the day

Hello.  🙂

I recently purchased a few digi-images from Mo Manning and finally had a chance to color one today.  I’ve started the other two so hopefully I can share those soon.  (There are just too many cute images out there these days and not enough time to play with them.)

Birthday Wishes Just For You

   MMBWJFY

This little girl with her static-y hair just cracks me up.  Remember how fun(ny) it was to rub balloons on your hair, stick them on the wall and then laugh at your hair standing on end?  🙂

MMBWCUI colored Angelina with Copics then used pencils for the ground.  (I just love those big cheeks!)

I’ll be back soon!  With what I am not sure.  (I sound like Yoda.)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!
