MFT August VIP Hop

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the August VIP hop with My Favorite Things!  If you’ve just popped in here, you might want to go back to the beginning with Kim.  If you’ve just come from Frances, then you’re right on track.  🙂

That’s Just Rotten

I used my favorite sentiment from the set.  🙂   I love the play on words.

The basket is actually empty, the set coming with several different items with which to fill it.  I chose apples.  I tried my best to make my apples look somewhat rotten without making them look like a bunch of dark brown blobs.  I didn’t want to add too much color though.

Once all of the paper-piecing was in place, I added the stitching and a bit of shading with gray markers.

On the actual stamp, the bottom left corner of the basket is cut straight across, even with the bottom of the image panel.  Since I wanted it to extend past the border a bit, I did not ink that corner of the basket (the straight line), stamped, then drew in that corner with a black marker.

For a coordinating finish to the inside, I used the same papers and a “thinking of you” type sentiment (from MFT’s Essential Sentiments set).
