Monthly Archives: September 2010

It’s Krafty Hop Time!!

Today Kraftin Kimmie Stamps releases their new FAB-U-LOUS September images!  As you’ve seen over the last few days in our Krafty Peeks, Annie Rodrigue has created some sweet and sassy ladies this month!  There are five images in the complete set…Annette, Betty, Jayne, Raychel and Samantha, and each one comes with her own sexy sentiment.

Steven Leary is back with Miles the Mouse and some new friends!   This month they are sharing some sweet times at a birthday party and getting ready for some fall fun!  You’ll get to check them all out in today’s September Release Day KRAFTY HOP!!

If you want to start from the beginning, just head over to the Kraftin Kimmie Challenge Blog.  As you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment at each and every stop because some lucky stampers will win packages of stamps from the new release!!  And when you’re done hopping, be sure to head over to the Kraftin Kimmie shop, because ALL the new images are NOW available!

Also, you enjoyed the Gimme Kimmies Kits so much last month, that we’re doing it again.  For those of you who just HAVE to have all the new images, we’ve got the perfect thing for you!  It’s called the Gimme Kimmies Kit.  Instead of clicking on each image that you’d like, you only have to click once to pick up a Gimme Kimmies Kit AND it’s at a discounted price!!  What could be better???

I’m Blessed

   KKIB

She’s blessed for sure.  😉  (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)

I’ve used Betty along with Kimmie’s new Thankful Sentiments.  After coloring the image, I wet a scrap of denim with clear blending solution KKIBCUand then pressed it onto her shorts to create the denim-ish “imprint.”  (In all honesty, I actually “soaked” the denim and then when I pressed it onto her shorts, the blue marker bled out all over the place.  After muttering a few choice words, I implemented Plan B… I cut out the image and adhered her over the oval.)

Your next stop in the Krafty Hop is with our Krafty partner, TARA!  I’m certain she has something absolutely stunning to share!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy hopping!  🙂

Kraftin Kimmie Preview Day 3 (and a Challenge)

Hello.  It’s Day 3 of Kraftin Kimmie ‘s September previews and it’s Saturday so that means it’s Challenge Day as well!  This week Kimmie is challenging us to make a girly girl card, all pink and sparkly.  Easy enough.  🙂

A Girl’s Gotta Do What a Girl’s Gotta Do

   KKGGD

Knowing these images were coming, I saw this paper and couldn’t pass it up.    It’s called “Diva Words” by Paper Studio.  I really wanted the words “Blah, Blah, Blah” to show in the upper left corner but I would have had to cut way too far into the paper, wasting much of it.  I had to settle for “Rotten.”  Lol.  (“Spoiled” is before it but you can’t see it.)

KKGGDCUToday I’ve used sassy Samantha.  Her accompanying sentiment is “Vavavoom!”  Quite appropriate, but instead I chose to use another phrase from Kimmie’s Sassy Sentiments.

After coloring the image, I added lots of sparkle with my glitter pens.  I also added some gloss to her lips with a clear gel pen.

If you’d like to play along with this week’s challenge, be sure to post a link on the Krafty Blog HERE for your chance to win a free Jayne image from the new release!

I’ll be back tomorrow (or very late tonight) with the big Krafty Hop and release!  See you then!  🙂

Stamps: Kraftin Kimmie “Samantha” (Moonlight Whispers) and Kimmie’s Sassy Sentiments  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Cardstock: Papertrey Ink True Black and Vintage Cream  Patterned Paper: The Paper Studio “Diva Words” and “Cute Pink Patchwork”  Accessories: Copic markers (E000, E00, R20, R81, R83, R85, YG03, YG05, Y21, E31, E33, E35, W00, W1, R0000), Spica Buttermilk and Blossom glitter pens, clear Sakura gel pen, Prima flower, Paper Studio trim, Michaels mini-brads, dimensional boosters.  Finished size 5 ½” x 5 ½”.

Kraftin Kimmie Previews, Day 2

Hello!  It’s Day 2 of Kraftin Kimmie‘s September previews!   I have another pin-up today.  (You know I love Annie’s images.)

Hugs

      KKH

I forgot to mention yesterday that each of the pin-ups comes with its own coordinating sentiment.   This is Jayne.  Her sentiment is “Wanna KKHCU4Cuddle?” but I used a different, shorter one here from Kimmie’s Everyday Sentiments.

I paper-pieced Jayne’s dress and hair ribbon and, like yesterday, added a bit of sparkle to her eyeshadow using a glitter pen.

You can find direct links to more design team and guest designer samples HERE.  All September images will be available Sunday, September 12th.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Kraftin Kimmie Previews, Day 1

Hello!  It’s Day 1 of previews of Kraftin Kimmie‘s September release!  This month we have pin-ups, lots of thanks and cute mice!

I Will Get Even

   KKIWG#

This is Annette.  Isn’t she pretty?  And doesn’t she look like she could be planning revenge?  In the sweetest way possible, of course!

I’ve started a small collection of flourishes.  I really do like them but I’m never quite sure what to do with them.  Here, I cut apart a larger one, tucking ends beneath the KKIWGECU2focal panel and ribbon.  Since I popped up the focal panel, I separated/cut the string of pearls so there would be no “ramp” of sorts with the uneven levels.

I had a few of the smaller pearls leftover so I used them on Annette’s necklace.

A clear Spica glitter pen added just a bit of sparkle to her eyeshadow.

Kimmie’s release will take place Sunday, September 12th.  Between now and then, you can find direct links to designer and guest designer previews HERE each morning after 7 a.m.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Getting Sketchy with Kraftin Kimmie

Hi everyone!  I’m back from my (almost) two-week vacation and it was fabulous.  Lots of sun, fun and family time.  It’s nice to be home but ugh…the unpacking and laundry.  That part is definately not fun.  I’ve missed everyone, my stamps and markers so I’m ready to hop right back into the swing of things.  I really appreciate all the comments you’ve left while I was gone.   I couldn’t access my blog or email while I was away so all of your kind words were very nice to come home to.  🙂KKC44

As you know, Saturdays are Challenge Days with Kraftin Kimmie and this week’s challenge is a sketch, presented by Yours Truly.

This was my first stab at creating a decent looking rendition of a sketch.   I guess I’ve played around enough that it really wasn’t all that difficult.  (**pats self on back**)

If you’d like to play along, please be sure to post a link to your creation on the Krafty Blog for your chance to win a free Francesca stamp as I’ve used here.

You’re How Old?

       KKYHO3

I paired Francesca with Kimmie’s Sassy Sentiments and Cosmo’s new Pixie-Licious paper.  I used a 1″ circle punch with the sentiment and didn’t have a slightly bigger one (nor did my Nesties seem to be just the KKHOCUright size), so I punched a second 1″ circle from the darker cardstock and used that to offset the sentiment.

To add a bit of shine, I used a clear 3-d glaze pen over the cupcake sprinkles, strawberries, barrettes and the button on Francesca’s hat.

You can find more samples using my sketch HERE on the Krafty blog.  And don’t forget to post a link if you play along!

One more thing… September Krafty peeks begin Thursday!  (I better get busy!  Eek!)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

MFT’s September Release Hop & Shop

Hi everyone!  Welcome to this month’s release hop with My Favorite Things!  If you’ve just popped in here, you might want to go back to the beginning with Kim.  If you’ve just come from Frances, then you’re right on track.

We have lots of fun new sets available tonight as well as four new Die-namics dies!  )

You’ve Got Me…Hook, Line & Sinker

    MFTYGM

Fred Bear is fishing but it isn’t fish he’s catching today. It’s love. (lol)  That’s why he’s blushing.  On the actual stamp there’s a fish at the end of the hook but I switched out the fish for a heart, cut from my patterned paper.

      MFTYGMCU

On the inside I finished the sentiment and used a scrap of the dotted paper.  Along the left sides of the dotted paper (outside and inside) I used MFT’s Small Scallop Die-namics border die.

     MFTYGMIN

All of the new sets are available right HERE, right now.  But first I hope you’ll head on over to our fabulous guest designer JENNIFER ROACH.  I’m certain she has something fantastic to share!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

My Favorite Things Previews, Day 5

Hi everyone!  It’s the last day of previews with My Favorite Things!   Teaser prizes continue so be sure to leave comments as you visit each blog.  You can find the complete list of participating DT members HERE after 11 a.m. EST.

Today the team is sharing samples of Well Read (this month’s WTG), Clearly Sentimental about Books and Flopsey Flies a Kite.

Throw Your Dreams Into the Air

   MFTTYD

Here’s Flopsey, leaning back against his yellow (*shrugging*) rock.    I’ve used Cosmo’s Togetherness again.  (I’m thinking I may need to buy a second paper pad.)

        MFTTYD

I paper-pieced Flopsey’s kite along with the tiny bows.  Instead of gluing the bows down all the way, I placed a tiny dot of glue only in the center which allowed me to slightly bend up the ends of each bow.

When gluing Flopsey, I placed the glue only on his body and feet which allowed his ears to pop off the paper a bit, adding just a little more dimension to the card.

MFTDNS.

For the sun I’ve used MFT’s Sunshine Die-namics die cut.  I stitched a button to the center,  leaving the jute string to hang beneath.

Since the button is not flat on the back, I placed a piece of a pop dot on one side to hold it level.

.

On the inside, I completed the sentiment and stamped the kite.
