Today we’re previewing Inspired by Butterflies and Enjoy Every Moment.

Begin Each Day with a Smile

I used super-cute Enjoy Every Moment.    That little dress with the stripey tights reminds me so much of one of my daughter’s favorite outfits…back when she wore things like that.

Here I’ve paper-pieced and colored with markers (as I so often like to do).

On the inside, I stamped the girl again and used a sentiment from Who’s That Chocoholic.  I thought it went well with the sentiment on the front as well as the image.

Today we’re previewing five new Pure Innocence sets: Primrose, You’re So Tweet, Butterfly Kisses, Believe in Magic and Out On a Limb

Happy Bird-Day!

Today I’ve used You’re So Tweet (but you can expect to see me using the others soon because I love them ALL).

I colored with Copics, added ground with pencils and paper-pieced the dress.  I tried to “color” over the trim and heart on her dress with a white opaque pen, but it didn’t work very well so I ended up piecing that part as well.

On the inside, I simply stamped the image again using Desert Sand ink.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Hi everyone!  Time for another challenge with Kraftin Kimmie!  This week Melanie has asked us to create a card using at least one recycled item.   I didn’t put myself out too terribly much on this one.  (I was kind of lame.)  I simply used a paperclip I found in the desk drawer and a scrap of ribbon from my daughter’s little ribbon “stash.”

Wishing You a Berry Nice Day

I just love Kimmie’s new berry girls and so for this challenge I chose to use Stella Strawberry.   So cute!

After clipping the paperclip to my sentiment, I adhered it over the trim and image using a pop dot, then threaded a button onto a layered flower, bringing the string around from one flower to the next.  To create small “leaves” I cut a scrap of green gingham, trimming the ends to points, tucking each one beneath a flower and adhering with glue.

You can see more samples for Melanie’s challenge HERE on the Krafty Blog.  As always, if you’d like to play along, leave a link there on the Krafty Blog for your chance to win a free Stella Strawberry!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Capture Each Moment

I’ve used Jolinne Catch a Star.  In the set, there is a cluster of stars as well as a cluster of butterflies.  I chose the latter.  🙂

I pieced her little dress and colored the rest with markers.  My flowers were totally copied from Jenny’s hereI really liked hers so I thought I’d give it a try.  I just punched the circles then dampened the paper, scrunched, unscrunched and assembled.   Easy.  🙂

On the inside, I stamped the sentiment, a little swath of butterflies, and added some stitching.

Today we’re previewing Clearly Sentimental about Time, Fred Bear Out West and a Die-namics companion set, The Great Outdoors.  You can find a complete list of direct links to more samples HERE on Kim’s blog.

Go Fly a Kite

Here I’ve used The Great Outdoors (sentiment set) with new Die-namics Flat Bottom Clouds and Fly a Kite

I die-cut the kite pieces from Cosmo’s Togetherness and then the clouds from a plain “patterned” piece from Basic Grey’s Hopscotch.  After die-cutting the clouds, I ran the edge of a black marker around the edges, then stamped the sentiment from The Great Outdoors.

On the inside, I stamped and pieced the kite from MFT’s Flopsey Flies a Kite.

Happy Birthday, Wendy!

**Until blog issues are resolved, please press Ctl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  Thanks!**

Hello!  Welcome to the big, fun birthday hop celebration for Wendy Bond!  If you’ve just popped in here and would like to go back to the beginning, you can swing by Karen’s blog HERE

A while back, Karen emailed to ask if I’d like to join in on Wendy’s birthday hop and I said “Oh YES!”  Wendy is so sweet, has the best sense of humor and is oh-s0-talented to boot!   (I KNEW I was going to like her when she stamped Emma’s hand on Wyatt’s butt.)

It’s a Cupcake Kind of Day

Hello Cupcake from the Pure Innocence line by My Favorite Things was my choice for Wendy’s card.  I used one of my favorite paper collections (Cosmo Cricket’s Togetherness) and some of my favorite trim and ribbon.

I paper-pieced the girl’s dress, then added shading with a W1 Copic.

On the inside, I stamped the girl again (in Desert Sand ink) and used a sentiment from Birthday Princess, another Pure Innocence set.

So Wendy, I hope you have the BEST birthday ever, and may your cupcake be as BIG as the one above!

Your next stop along the hop is with  MARIA’S CRAFT ROOM!  And if you’d like to wish Wendy a happy birthday, you can do that here. 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back tomorrow with Day 1 of MFT’s February release previews!!  Have a great day!

It’s Cute Card Thursday!

**Until blog issues are resolved, please press Ctl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  Thanks!**

Hi everyone!  Kraftin Kimmie is sponsoring this week’s sketch on the Cute Card Thursday blog, so I whipped up a little something.  (Hee, hee.  That’s a joke.  I don’t “whip up” anything.)

You’re as Sweet as Apple Pie

I’ve used one of Kimmie’s latest releases from the Moonlight Whispers line, Abigail Apple.  The sentiment, which comes along with the image, actually consists of two lines of type but I split it using a Stamp-a-ma-jig to better fit the circle.

I didn’t follow the sketch EXACTLY but pretty darn close.   You can check it out here.  If you’d like to play along, be sure to post a link to your creation there on the Cute Card Thursday blog for your chance to win something from Kraftin Kimmie!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Take a Deep Breath

**Until blog issues are resolved, please press Ctl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  Thanks!**

Morning.    I’m not sure if it’s a good morning.  Too soon to tell…and I don’t think my eyes are open all the way yet.   We had some drywall work and painting done in our house this weekend so the furniture was everywhere, dust IS everywhere…it’s a mess.  And we spent all day yesterday out of town, visiting relatives.  That was lots of fun.  But I’m tired and I have a ton of things to do today.  So I’ll be kind of quick…

Last week I played a bit with Jen’s January SFYTT (Sketch For You To Try).  I’m so glad she changed her format to once a month.  Less work for her and more time for everyone to fit it into a busy schedule.  Here’s the sketch:

Take a Deep Breath (I may have to tell myself this later today)

I’ve used Deep Breath from The Cat’s Pajamas, another of the many sets I had awaiting ink.

I paper-pieced the hat and scarf and split the one-line sentiment into three to fit the circle.

I better get going!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day, and I’ll be back soon!

Stamps:  The Cat’s Pajamas “Deep Breath”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper:  Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, Prism Suede Brown Medium, Prima Jack n’ Jill (6×6 paper pad)  Accessories: Copic markers (C00, C1, C3, E50, R81, B0000), Spellbinders Nestabilities, ribbon, button/string, Webster’s Pages Spring Market trim, Michaels adhesive pearls, sewing machine.  Finished size 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″.

Wishing You Happiness

**Until blog issues are resolved, please press Ctl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  Thanks!**

Hello.  🙂  I hope you are all having a nice (WARM) weekend.  It is FREEZING here.  Way colder than normal.  I’m much more of a warm-weather girl so I’m not enjoying this at all.  Brrrr….

Anyway…I wanted to make a card for the very sweet husband of my very sweet friend, Sue.   Cards for men don’t come easy to me, and I’m not much good with sentiments being the focal point, but I gave it a whirl.

Wishing You Happiness

I used More Essential Expressions by My Favorite Things, centering the sentiment over MFT’s new Layered Label Die-namics.

Along the bottom, I also used Open Scallop Border Die-namics.

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from the same set.

I hope the flower-ish things aren’t too girly.   And I hope Sue’s husband, John, has a WONDERFUL 90th birthday.  (They are just the sweetest couple ever!)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “More Essential Sentiments”    Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black   Paper: Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream, Webster’s Pages Feather Your Nest “Vine”   Accessories:  MFT Layered Label and Open Scallop Die-namics, American Crafts brads, dimensional boosters.   Finished size 5 1/8″ x 5 1/8″.

Princes, Princesses and Frogs, Oh My!

**Until blog issues are resolved, please press Ctl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  Thanks!**

Hi everyone! It’s time for another challenge with Kraftin Kimmie!  This week Tara is challenging us to use princes, princesses and/or frogs…or any other fairytale-ish interpretation will work.   I decided to challenge myself with Snow White.  (It was scary.)

You’re the Apple of My Eye

Once I had selected my papers, I realized I was going to have to color part of her dress red.  Nooooo!  And as if that weren’t bad enough, I had to color her hair black…so difficult for me.  Blonds and brunettes are sooo much easier .

I didn’t have a red flourish so I colored a cream one using a red Copic.  But here’s a tip…don’t just slop on the color, thinking you’re going to peel the flourish off the acetate anyway.  Carefully color each pearl.  If you get marker on the little adhesive strip that holds the pearls together, it will show.  And it will look sloppy.  (Speaking from experience here…)

Be sure to check out the other Krafty girls’ fairytale samples HERE.  And if you’d like to play along, please remember to post a link to your card there on the Krafty Blog for your chance to win a free Snow White!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  Kraftin Kimmie “Snow White” (Moonlight Whispers)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black   Paper:  Stampin Up Real Red, My Favorite Things cream Perfect Paper Panel, My Mind’s Eye Quite Contrary Jack & Jill “Cute” Engaging Gingham and How Sweet It Is    Accessories:   Copic markers (E000, E00, E11, E18, E35, R20, R24, R27, R29, R59, YR23, YR24, Y21, W00, W1, W3, W5, W7, 100-black, BG0000), Kaiser Craft flourish, trim, ticket corner punch, eyelet, ribbon, button, string, dimensional boosters.    Finished size 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.
