MFT – Getting Sketchy, Week 7

**Please press Ctrl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  (Blog issues.)  Thanks!**

Hi everyone.  It’s time for the Wednesday Stamp Club with My Favorite Things.  We’re now on Week 7 of sketches!

Thinking of You

This week I finally inked Ice Skating Flopsey.  (I love the swirly sentiment.)

I paper-pieced his scarf, coat and pants, coloring the rest with markers.  After Flopsey was dressed and colored, I cut him out and adhered him over the ribbons using foam boosters.

After stamping the sentiment, I clear embossed to help it stand out against the patterned paper.

Along the bottom of my card front (and on the inside), I used MFT’s Small Scallop Border Die-namics — two strips on the front and one on the inside.

On the inside, I stamped Flopsey a second time, drew in a little swish beneath his skate and used a sentiment from Snow Adorable (Pure Innocence).

Here’s the sketch:

You can find direct links to more DT samples HERE on the MFT Blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT forum on SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 7).  And remember, if you upload your card in the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Hello.  🙂  The My Favorite Things team is back today sharing samples of our second new à la modes set, All-Star.

You’re an All-Star!

So many fun possibilities with this set!   The flag is actually blank so you can stamp in that area.  Use alphas for team letters, a small note of encouragement or praise.  The shirt can be colored to reflect any school or team colors, letters or numbers can be added….it’s endless!

I paper-pieced my flag, added the #1, and colored my image.

I die-cut a strip of stars from black cardstock using MFT’s Star Border Die-namics.  I cut apart three of the stars, placing them on the image panel in the corner and used some of the remaining strip on the inside.

For direct links to more samples using this adorable set, please check Kim’s blog HERE.  I’ll be back tonight at 10 p.m. EST for MFT’s WTG VIP hop.  See you then!  🙂

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “All-Star” (à la modes)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black     Paper:  Papertrey Ink Black, Vintage Cream; My Mind’s Eye Stella & Rose Hattie (6×6)    Accessories:   Copic markers (E000, E00, E11, E35, E37, E57, Y21, YR23, YR24, BG23, BG49, BG0000, W1), MFT Star Border Die-namics, ribbon.   Finished size 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

Monday, Monday.  Hmmm… Not always an exciting day of the week for most, but today the My Favorite Things team is previewing the first of two new à la modes sets, and that’s always exciting to me.  🙂

Today the MFT team is sharing samples of Wishing You Luck

A Best Friend is Like a Four-Leaf Clover

This adorable set comes with several sentiments.  I split this one, using part on the front, part on the inside.

I used ALL scraps on the inside.  A strip here…a strip there…  Might as well use them, right?

For direct links to more samples using this set, check out Kim’s blog HERE.  I’ll be back tomorrow with a sample using the second new à la modes.  (EEK! Love it!)  🙂

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Valentines Day!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Wishing You Luck” (à la modes)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black    Paper:  Papertrey Ink Kraft and Vintage Cream, MME Stella and Rose Hazel (6×6)    Accessories:   Copic markers (E000, E00, E57, R20, R81, R83, R85, YG91, YG0000, BG0000, W1, W3), Prismacolor pencils, ribbon.   Finished size 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

Hi everyone!   Welcome to Kraftin Kimmie’s February release hop!   If you’d like to start at the beginning, you can do that HERE.  If you’ve just come from Angie, then you’re right where you’re supposed to be.

As you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment at each and every stop because some lucky stampers will win packages of stamps from the new release!  And when you’re done hopping, be sure to head over to the Kraftin’ Kimmie shop, because ALL the new images are NOW available!

This month Kraftin Kimmie is debuting a new line of stamps — Krafty Quotes, perfect for scrapbooking and cardmaking. We’ll have a new set each month.  Annie Rodrigue is rockin’ and rollin’ this month with FIFTIES themed stamps.  There are seven images in the complete set and each one comes with two or three coordinating sentiments.  And Steven Leary is helping us shake off those winter blues by helping us to think spring.  Stinkin’ cute!

Should you decide you “need” an entire collection, simply click once with Gimme Kimmie’s Kits.  We’ve grouped each line of stamps together so instead of clicking on each image that you’d like, you only have to click once .  AND it’s at a discounted price!  YAY!

What’s Shakin’?

Here I’ve used fun Fanny and one of her coordinating sentiments.

I paper-pieced her hat and dress, then overlaid her apron, bending up the loop and the bottom of the front just a bit for added dimension.

Your next stop along the hop is with KRISTA.  I just know she has something amazing to share.  The girl has serious skills!

Thanks SO much for stopping by!  Have a great day!  🙂

Krafty Peeks, Day 4

**Please press Ctrl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  (Blog issues.)  Thanks!**

Hi everyone!  It’s the final day, Day 4, of sneak peeks of Kraftin Kimmie’s February release!  That means all the new images will be available tomorrow!   And since today is Saturday, we’re combining the peek with this week’s challenge.  Donna has given us a recipe, a list of items to use for this week’s card…three different colors, two different papers, one button and one ribbon.

Let’s Rock and Roll

Here I’ve used Patsy and the Jukebox.  Each comes with coordinating sentiments.  Patsy’s include “I’m All Shook Up!”, “You Send Me” and “Let’s Go to the Hop!”  And the jukebox comes with “Rock Around the Clock!” and “Let’s Rock and Roll!”

I stamped Patsy, masked her with a Post It note, and then stamped the jukebox in Rich Cocoa ink.  And yes, I intended to leave the jukebox uncolored.  I didn’t forget.  (Just thought I’d clarify because I know someone….starts with K, ends with J, *snort*…would have some snarky comment about it.)  😉

To see more samples for this week’s challenge, and more samples of this month’s release, head on over to the Krafty Blog HERE.  I’ll be back late tonight (1 a.m. EST) with the Kraftin Kimmie February Release hop!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

You’re Outta Sight!

Meet Judy. She comes with two sentiments, the one I’ve used here and “I’m on Cloud 9!”

Isn’t she cute?  I wish I looked like that in short shorts.

Spring Has Sprung (Not really, but I’m impatiently waiting…)

I’ve used Springtime Bunnies.  (So cute peeking out of the flowers and grass.)

I added my own little patch of grass beneath the image using patterned paper and scissors.  (And just so you know, I added in the little whiskers too.)

Krafty Peeks, Day 1

**Please press Ctrl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  (Blog issues.)  Thanks!**

Hi again!  It’s time for sneak peeks of Kraftin Kimmie’s February releases!  To start things off we’re debuting a new line of stamps that will appeal to both scrappers and stampers alike — Krafty Quotes.  Each month we’ll be releasing a new set and each will consist of four quotes which are larger in size than your average word stamps. The sentiments are perfect for  accenting scrapbook pages, card images or to become the focal point of a design.

This month Krafty Quotes #1 features quotes from Audrey Hepburn, Louisa May Alcott, Lucille Ball and Mother Teresa.

I am *totally* out of my comfort zone, using sentiments as my focal point, and because of my “insecurity,” I made two cards.  The first one (and I’m not saying which one that was), I thought I didn’t like. Then I did.  Then I thought maybe I didn’t like it because it’s “not me.”  Then I thought neither one of them were “me.”  lol.  I don’t know.  You decide.  (If you say nothing, I’ll know the answer.  *snort*)

Love Yourself First…

On this one, I stamped the sentiment onto the heart print paper, added some double-sided sticky tape to the back of the trim and (messy) “pleated” it onto the paper.

Hold Onto Each Other

Here I stamped and clear embossed the sentiment, folded the ribbon to resemble a bow and adhered the button.

Nothing elaborate.  But I’m still not sure about them.  Too plain?  I like the sentiments though!  And I will try again!  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Sending You Lots of Hugs

**Please press Ctrl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  (Blog issues.)  Thanks!**

Hello.  🙂   It’s time for Wednesday Stamp Club with My Favorite Things!   I just love the switch to all sketches.  This week we’re on #6 and it’s a good one!  (Not that they all aren’t…)

Sending You Lots of Hugs

I’ve had Naptime from MFT’s Pure Innocence line for a while and hadn’t yet gotten it inky.  Now was the time.  🙂

I pieced the little blanket and pj’s then added tiny brads in place of the buttons.  On the sketch, there are three little “somethings” indicated in the bottom left corner of the diecut, so instead of just the one bear by the girl (as is on the stamp), I masked in two more.  Wa-la…my three “somethings.”  🙂

My sentiment is from a second Pure Innocence set, Bunch of Flowers (currrently out of stock).  On the inside, I stamped part of the sentiment a second time, underlining the “lots” for emphasis.  (I obviously did not clean my stamp well –or at all– between uses.  Eek! Oh well.  It’s “homemade,” not perfect.)  😉

Here’s the sketch:

You can find direct links to more DT samples HERE on the MFT Blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT forum on SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered #6).  And remember, if you upload your card in the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week!
