July MFTeasers, Day 4

Happy 4th of July! 

The My Favorite Things team is back today sharing more previews of our July release!  Today we have Inpsired by Summer and another Die-namic Duo, Perfect Pinwheel.

When I’m Down, You Turn Me Around…’Round, ‘Round

Today I’ve used Perfect Pinwheel.  I like how this turned out but I think I’d like it more if I’d made my card taller… and more narrow. That way I could have used a longer stick.  But this is fine.  🙂

I die-cut two pinwheel pieces, flipping the paper for the second cut.  To make assembly a bit easier, I stood my paper-piercer on end, then placed one piece at a time, centering the holes over the piercer.  When I was finished, I held the “stack” not-too-tightly together but just enough to hold the pieces and inserted a brad through all holes at once.  I also found it easier to use a brad with longer-than-the-norm prongs.  My mini-brads from Michaels were just the right length.

I stamped my sentiment, trimmed the end to a flag shape and slipped it beneath a shortened bamboo stick.  The stick was glued down using Tombow Mono Multi.  Once everything was in place, I added the stitches to help secure the sentiment (which I also rippled a bit before adhering).

On the inside, I stamped another word from the Perfect Pinwheel sentiment set onto a couple of stacked Layered Labels.  The oval was die-cut from cardboard (tablet backing) and then patterned paper to add a bit of bulk.  (The flower center of the pinwheel on the front of my card was also stacked onto two layers of cardboard.  Save that tablet backing!  Instant chipboard!) 

I also added a strip of tiny pinwheels across the bottom, borrowed from the new PI & the Pinwheel set.
