I See…A Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone!  I’m back today with the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club.

This week’s sketch was another test of my patience…but those tilted panels are growing on me.

Slowly…  🙂

I See…Sunny Days Ahead

This week I’ve used one of our latest à la modes releases, I Spy(In person, those purple brads match the cardstdock.  So annoying that they show here so OFF color.  Grrrr….)

I colored with Copics, paper-pieced the dress and used MFT’s Perfect Petal Trio Die-namics to create the flower. Our File Tab die was used to create the… file tab (*snicker*) with Small Scallop Border providing that wee bit of trim beneath the image.

On the inside, I completed the sentiment and added a couple more wonky panels.

You can find direct links to DT samples HERE on the MFT blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT Forum in SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 35.)   And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

I’ll be back tomorrow with Day 2 of September previews!  🙂  Thanks for visiting!

Today we’re previewing Who’s Your Mummy WTG.

Who’s Your Mummy?

The last time I used this set (for our VIP hop), I used browns and oranges.  This time I decided to go with blue-green/gray.

I like coloring things that are basically white.  It’s so fast!  🙂  Here I used my lightest blue/green marker (BG0000) and then shaded over with grays (W00 and W1).  I used a black Copic to color my pinheads, and I clipped little bits from MFT’s Fancy Flourish to make it fit with my image.  (I love that die.  It can be elegant…or a bit spidery and spooky.)  After tying my ribbon, I zapped it with my heat gun for a crinkly, worn effect.

On the inside, I used another sentiment from the set, a second strip of Double Scallop Border and my favorite “ghosty” paper from WRMK’s “Spookville” paper pad.

Here are the details about the upcoming release:

  • The release will take place at 10 p.m. EST on September 6th.  You can attend the release party from 8 – 10 p.m. EST here in the forum for fun, games and prizes.
