MFT’s September DT Creative Challenge

Hi everyone.  🙂  It’s time for a Design Team Creative Challenge with My Favorite Things.  This is a new monthly feature where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, we’re all putting down the markers, pencils and paints (GASP!) and sharing projects with no coloring!   (Oy.)   Visit Kim’s blog for a full list of designers who have taken up the challenge!

Hope Your Day is…as Happy as Happy Gets

This was sooo hard for me.  Put down my Copics?  WAY far out of my comfort zone.  But I tried!  🙂

I used MFT’s new Feeling Froggy from the Pure Innocence line.  My thought was that the little PI girl would look cute whether she was colored or not, and I was trying to make this as easy as possible on myself.  🙂

Tip:  To add a little blast of color around an uncolored image, add an embellishment using one of the more subtle colors from your patterned paper.  Pulling the blue from the plaid, I created my flower using a scrap of denim and Pretty Posies Die-namics

On the inside, I stamped the remainder of the sentiment and the girl, and I used scraps of the patterned paper.

Whew.  (hee, hee…)

I’ll be back tomorrow for MFT’s weekly sketch!  Thanks for visiting!   🙂
