Krafty Peeks, Day 1!

Today the Krafty Girls begin peeks of Kraftin Kimmie Stamps’ September release!  We’ll be getting together each day leading up to the release on Sunday, September 18, and each day YOU have a chance to win the new releases!

You can find a complete list of direct links to all participating design team members HEREon the Krafty Blog.  Be sure to leave comments as you look because each day one, two or even three random winners will be chosen to receive the new sets/images, FREE, just for commenting!

Today we are sharing samples of O Holy Night Nativity Set by Cheryl Alger, along with Nativity Sentiments.  Today one random commenter will receive BOTH sets!  🙂

Peace on Earth

The O Holy Night Nativity Set is one of my favorite Christmas sets.  So cute!  I wanted my card to remain relatively flat so it would be easy to mail so I didn’t use too many doo-dads.  It’s a bit plain, but I still like it.

As always, I colored with Copics and added ground using colored pencils.  The sentiment is from Nativity Sentiments.

On the inside, I used new Christmas Interior Sentiments, another great set!  The phrases are bigger and perfect for the insides of holiday cards!

We’ll be back tomorrow sharing samples of Emilie’s new images!

Thanks for visiting!  🙂

Sketch Time with MFT!

We’re on Week 37 of sketches with My Favorite Things, and this one is a favorite for sure.  Nice, straight lines, no curves or tilts… love it.  🙂

Boo

I like the Pure Innocence Little Witch so much, I decided to use that set again.  (Apparently a lot of you like her too as she is currently out of stock.)

After coloring with Copics, I cut her out, adhered over the lined paper, then dipped a toothpick into Copic’s Opaque White to create the dots.  I used Mini Pennant Die-namics to cut and layer the little flag with Typewriter Alphabet to spell out the “Boo.”

I used another sentiment from the set on the inside and stamped a little peeking witch in the corner using Memento Tangelo.

You can find direct links to DT samples HERE on the MFT blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT Forum in SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 37.)   And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day!  🙂

MFT’s September DT Creative Challenge

Hi everyone.  🙂  It’s time for a Design Team Creative Challenge with My Favorite Things.  This is a new monthly feature where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, we’re all putting down the markers, pencils and paints (GASP!) and sharing projects with no coloring!   (Oy.)   Visit Kim’s blog for a full list of designers who have taken up the challenge!

Hope Your Day is…as Happy as Happy Gets

This was sooo hard for me.  Put down my Copics?  WAY far out of my comfort zone.  But I tried!  🙂

I used MFT’s new Feeling Froggy from the Pure Innocence line.  My thought was that the little PI girl would look cute whether she was colored or not, and I was trying to make this as easy as possible on myself.  🙂

Tip:  To add a little blast of color around an uncolored image, add an embellishment using one of the more subtle colors from your patterned paper.  Pulling the blue from the plaid, I created my flower using a scrap of denim and Pretty Posies Die-namics

On the inside, I stamped the remainder of the sentiment and the girl, and I used scraps of the patterned paper.

Whew.  (hee, hee…)

I’ll be back tomorrow for MFT’s weekly sketch!  Thanks for visiting!   🙂

Stamps:  MFT “Feeling Froggy” (Pure Innocence)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black     Paper:  MFT Fossil Cardstock, X-Press It Blending Card, My Mind’s Eye Six by Six “A Happy Heart” (6×6) and Crate Paper “Farmhouse” (6×6)   Accessories:  MFT Pretty Posies Die-namics, Melissa Frances trim, button/string, Copic 0.05 Multiliner.  Finished size 4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″.

Blast From the Past

This week with Kraftin Kimmie Stamps, Angie is having us work with one of our first KK images.   What a great challenge!  🙂

Hugs

Since the very beginning, I’ve been a huge fan of Annie’s Moonlight Whispers images and so it only seemed right to choose the one that pulled me right in–Charlotte.  I adore her.

After coloring with Copics, I sponged the edges with Tattered Rose Distress Ink, added my little sentiment tab and lots of stitching.

If you’d like to play along this week, be sure to post a link HERE on the Krafty Blog for your chance to win a free stamp from Kraftin Kimmie!

Don’t forget to check out the Frugal Friday Specials HERE — six images 40-50% off through the weekend!  This week there is also a gift with purchase.  For every order over $25, receive a free Stephen Leary image!  (Details here.)

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great weekend!

It’s JiFFy Time!

This is one challenge I always look forward to…getting together with my JiFFy friends.   Just as a refresher, one of us chooses patterned paper and sends to all.  Once the paper is on its way, another of us chooses an image.  We then have to each do something with the combo.  Just for fun!  🙂

This month was my turn to choose the paper.  I love tiny flower prints and gingham so when I spotted Simple Stories’ “Simple Pleasures” from their 100 Days of Summer Collection, I knew that was what I wanted to use.  It was Jody’s turn to select the image and she chose TCP‘s adorable bunny in Take Off

Just Putt-Putting Along

I so very much love this set.  It’s just so cute!

Even though this is probably a boy bunny (I think he lo0ks like a boy), I decided to give him a floral plane.  I think he’s “man” enough to handle it (and I just wanted to paper-piece it.)   🙂

I stamped the wing a second time, colored it, cut it out and applied a thin stripe of glue just along the top edge.  Beneath the bottom of the wing, I placed one of Jody’s foam boosters.

MFT’s Pretty Posies Die-namics created a quick matching flower.

Be sure to check out what the other JiFFy girls did with this same image and paper!  I’m always eager to see for myself!  🙂

Sketch Time…with MFT

It’s time to get sketchy once again with My Favorite Things!  This week’s layout is super easy.  🙂

I Salute You

I had not yet used this second à la modes, Blue Without You, from last night’s release.  When I saw the sketch, I knew I’d choose this set.

I used a navy blue gel pen to dot around the oval and Copic’s Opaque White to dot her shirt.  (Note to self:  Next time, let the dots dry longer.)

The tag was die-cut using our new Dog Tag Die-namics, and the star was created using Stacking Stars.

On the inside, I stamped a second of the sentiments in the set and added some Stacking Stars across the bottom.

You can find direct links to DT samples HERE on the MFT blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT Forum in SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 36.)   And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

MFT September Hop & Shop

Helloooo!  Welcome to the September release hop with My Favorite Things!  If you’d like to start at the beginning, you can do that HERE with Kim.

Hello, My Pretty

Tonight I’ve used another of our adorable Pure Innocence sets, Little Witch, along with Woodgrain Fence, Mini Pennants and Branch with Leaves Die-namics.

I colored with Copics, pieced her dress then adhered her over the die-cut fence.   I placed a foam booster beneath the broom to add a bit more dimension.

On the inside, I stamped the girl again and adhered the piece of fence that was clipped from the piece on the front of the card.  (Waste not, want not.)  🙂

You can find all of the new stamp sets and Die-namics here, but first I hope you’ll continue on with the hop!  Your next stop is with one of my favorite “colorers,” SHERRIE.    Thanks for visiting!  🙂

Stamps:  MFT “Little Witch” (Pure Innocence)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black     Paper:  Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate, X-Press Blending Card, My Mind’s Eye “Mischievous”  (6×6)   Accessories:  Copic markers (E000, E00, E11, R20, Y21, YR23, E35, E57, W1, W3, BG11, BG70), MFT Woodgrain Fence, Mini Pennants and Branch with Leaves Die-namics, Hero Arts trim, foam booster.  Finished size 5″ x 5″.

MFT Teasers, Day 7

Hi everyone.  Today is the last day of September previews with My Favorite Things.  Today our focus is on the new Die-namics releases.

From Our House to Yours

I used new Prima Donna Petals to form my “wreath.”   The die comes with one leaf but I also added leaves from Flower and Leaf Trio.  It worked out well using both as I ended up with varying sizes of leaves.

The sentiment (which I clear embossed over dark brown ink) is from Homespun Birdhouse Die-namics and Stamp Set.

Along the bottom, I’ve added a strip of Simply Scallops Die-namics.

After forming the wreath with the flowers, I randomly tucked in the leaves, attaching each with a glue dot.    The bow, created using a Bow Easy, was

adhered with a glue dot as well, then zapped with my heat gun to add a bit of shape (and wrinkles).

I decided to wait to stamp a sentiment on the inside, but to “fancy it up” just a bit until then, I stamped some swirls from Sassy & Sweet and sponged the edges using Tattered Rose Distress ink.

.

The release will take place TONIGHT (September 6th) at 10 p.m. EST.  You can attend the release party from 8 – 10 p.m. EST here in the forum for fun, games, prizes and the announcement of our next Guest Designer!  Can’t wait to see who it is!  🙂

MFT Teasers, Day 6

Hi everyone! It’s PI Sunday with My Favorite Things! 🙂  I know a lot of you look forward to this preview day and, actually, I do too.  The Pure Innocence images are always right at the top of my list!

Today we’re sharing samples of Astronaut Girl, Little Witch, Feeling Froggy, Morning Glory and Spa Day.

Hi…I Toad-ally Miss You

I’ve used Feeling Froggy.  I just love the pigtails and overalls (and the little frog).

I pieced her shirt then overlaid the pieced overalls.  You can’t tell in this picture, but I used a clear 3-d glaze pen to dot over her buttons and barette.

The little banner was created using MFT’s new Mini Pennants Die-namics (with Typewriter Alphabet).  I used an orange Copic to color the string, then tied the banner onto our new Woodgrain Fence Die-namics

On the inside, I tucked the message panel behind another die-cut fence then added a little frog in the corner.

Allow Yourself to Make Mistakes

Today I’ve used Talk Nerdy to Me.   SUCH a cute set!  I think with different sentiments, it would be perfect for teacher cards as well!
