Stay Cool!

Time flies!  It’s Day 6 of November previews with My Favorite Things!   Today we’re sharing samples of seven new Pure Innocence images.

I believe I was channeling Inge on this card.  🙂  I love how she distresses her papers, and it’s been a while since I’ve done that.  I just love the look.

My little snowboarder was colored with Copics, then I sponged the edges with VersaMagic Wheat, added lots of stitching and some snowflakes cut using Snowflake Trio Die-namics.  In the centers of the smaller flakes, I placed tiny button brads.  I ♥ those.

On the inside, I stamped the snowboarder and a swirl from Sassy & Sweet, leaving plenty of room for a personal note (telling someone just how cool they really are).

I Dig You

We’re up to Day 5 of November previews with My Favorite Things!   Today we’re sharing samples of the two new à la modes, Knit Happens and Disco Queen.

I’ve used Disco Queen.  I love the concept of this set.  So cute!

On the front I used the smaller of the two new Peace Signs Die-namics (stacked atop two cardboard peace signs) and placed a strip of Wonky Border beneath the stripes.

I pieced the girl’s dress, then stamped the disco ball a second time, added some gray shading and adhered it over the colored image.  The side close to her body is adhered with glue while the other end is raised on a foam booster.  Once adhered, I added Star Dust Stickles for lots of sparkle.

On the inside, I used a sentiment from Groovy Girl à la modes and the bigger of the two Peace Signs.

It’s time for another challenge with Kraftin Kimmie!  This week Donna is challenging everyone to create a monochromatic card.

Luckily, I just received Basic Grey’s new Little Black Dress paper pad so that’s what I decided to use with Sophia.

I know…her hair is a little weird.  I couldn’t decide if I wanted her to be a blonde or a brunette with colored highlights.  So now she’s a brunette with yellow (and green?)  highlights.  Ha!

You can find more monochromatic samples on the Krafty Blog HERE.  If you’d like to play along with this week’s challenge, be sure to post a link to your creation there on the Krafty Blog for your chance to win a free Winnie image (as used by Donna on her challenge card).

You can find Frugal Friday specials, as well as a LOT of GREAT DEALS on clearance images HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Merry Christmas

It’s Day 4 of November previews with My Favorite Things!   Today we’re sharing samples of two new stamp/die-namics combos:  Christmas Ornaments and Vintage Cameo.

I’ve used Christmas Ornaments Die-namics and Stamp set.  SO much fun!

I die-cut two ornaments from cardboard and one from the striped paper then stacked to create a covered chipboard look.  I die-cut one ornament top/hanger from cardboard then white cardstock and colored it with a R89 then E59 Copics.

I die-cut the Oval Decorative Doily from kraft cardstock.  The string was adhered by taping one end to the back, then bringing the other end to the front and taping (beneath the ornament).  The little bow was tied on separately.  I added the little pearls then adhered the oval to my cardfront using foam boosters.

The sentiment on the inside is from one of yesterday’s previews, Clearly Sentimental About Christmas.

Love and Laughter

We’re on Day 3 of November previews with My Favorite Things!   Today we’re sharing samples using Clearly Sentimental about Abundance and Clearly Sentimental about Christmas.  Since I’m ready for holiday cheer, snow and decorating, I went with Christmas.

I’m always a bit afraid when it comes to creating with only sentiments.  I prefer stamped images…that I can color.  But after giving this a bit of thought, I decided to pull out MFT’s Teardrop Tree Die-namics.  Whew.  Saved.  🙂

I added stitching around my tree top and decorated with little pearls leftover from a picked-apart flourish.

I kept the inside very simple, using another sentiment from Clearly Sentimental about Christmas and a die-cut strip of Faux Crochet Border.

I’ll be back tomorrow for Day 4!  Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

I Haven’t Been Ignoring You…

It’s Day 2 of November previews with My Favorite Things!   Today we’re sharing samples using Inspired by Christmas and Fred Bear Catches Some Zzz’s.

As you can see, I’ve used Fred Bear.  Isn’t he cute “hibernating” beneath the bare tree?  The tree was die-cut from cream cardstock using MFT’s Sheltering Tree Die-namics.  After cutting, I simply rubbed Rich Cocoa Memento ink over (direct pad to paper), leaving the embossed bark lines to clearly show through.

I thought it would be cute to piece Fred’s pillow.  I also wanted to use lots of small prints and stitching to create a cozy feel.  Lily Bee Design’s new Harvest Market patterns were perfect.  🙂

On the inside, I continued the cute sentiment and stamped a partial silhouette of Fred.

Sketchy with MFT

Hi everyone!  We’re up to Sketch No. 43 with My Favorite Things!  Can you believe it?

I pretty much followed the sketch, but I placed the heart/button (inspired by Joanne) on the right instead of the left, and I widened the center strip.  It’s a great sketch, one I’m sure to use again.

This week I chose Calendula from the Pure Innocence collection.   I ♥ her.

I couldn’t resist piecing her dress in the gingham.  The rest is colored with markers, and grass was whisked in using Prismacolor pencils.

The heart was die-cut using the smallest of hearts from Hearts a Plenty Die-namics and a thin sheet of cork.  The scallopy border was cut using Double Scallop Border Die-namics.

Inside, I stamped the sentiment in black and the silhouette using Cantaloupe Memento.

You can find direct links to DT samples HERE on the MFT blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT Forum in SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 43.)   And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Calendula” (Pure Innocence)  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Cataloupe   Paper: Prism Blush Red Dark, Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found2 “Rosy”  (6×6)   Accessories:  Copic markers (E000, E00, E11, R20, YR23, E50, R02, R08, G20, G21, G24), Prismacolor pencils, MFT Double Scallop Border and Hearts a Plenty Die-namics, cork, button/jute.  Finished size 4 1/4″ x 5″.

MFT November Previews, Day 1

I can NOT believe it’s almost November.   But that also means it’s time to begin previews of MyFavorite Things‘  November release!  That’s always exciting, right?

Teaser PRIZES begin today so be sure to leave comments as you look around.  (You can find direct links to all participating DT HERE.)  Each day, two prize vouchers are held by two members of our Design Team.  You’ll have all week to comment on each of the posts and all winners will be posted on Kim’s blog on Tuesday, November 1st around 7:30pm.

Today we’re previewing WTG Gets Cozy with Cocoa.   I also used the CPS Sketch for this week, which is being sponsored by MFT.

This is one of my favorite of the WTG sets.  She’s just so…wintery.  🙂

The larger of the two doilies in Dainty Doily Duo Die-namics was the perfect sized frame for WTG, and I used the coordinating Dainty Doily Border (currently out of stock) along the bottom.

I’ve pieced the entire image.  Even the gloves were cut from “patterned” paper in the MME Lost & Found Christmas paper.  I added bits of shading here and there using brown or gray markers.

On the inside, I stamped the sentiment and some swirls from Sassy & Sweet.

JiFFy Time!

Woohoo!  It’s time to get together with my JiFFy friends!  One of my favorite posts of the month.  🙂  This was an especially fun one for me as I love the image and I love the paper, and together…♥ ♥ ♥!

To recap, one of us chooses paper, another chooses an image, we send to all and then post together.  It’s a challenge (sometimes)… but always Just For Fun.  🙂

This month Lori chose Crate Paper’s “Countryside” from their Farmhouse Collection (and a fabulous one it is).  Once she mentioned that the paper was on it’s way to each of us, I revealed that I had chosen Taylored Expressions’ “Tabitha” from The Moka Collection.

Witching You a Happy Halloween

Tabitha might be my favorite witch EVER.  I *adore* her.  (The blue/green stripes in her hair were inspired by my daughter who loves flashes of color in her own hair.)

My little “31” banner was created using My Favorite Things’ Mini Pennant Die-namics and Typewriter Alphabet.  I added a brown Dew Drop to the end of the “post.”

She’s colored with Copics and her dress and hat are pieced.  When adhering her dress, I applied adhesive only to the top portion, allowing the bottom edges to curl up a bit.  I stamped the broom a second time as well, colored and cut it out, then “curled” the broom (vertically) around a pencil to create a curve.  The top portion only is adhered, allowing me to slightly bend up the tips.

Be sure to check out what Lori, Carole and Amy have done with this same image/paper combo.  I can’t WAIT to see!  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Kraftin Kimmie October Release Hop

Today is release day for Kraftin Kimmie Stamps!  We have a trio of Snow Peeps by Cheryl Alger, five winter fun animals by Emilie Goulet and six new Everyday Girls by Annie Rodrigue.  You’ll see most of the new images throughout the hop, but if you just popped in here, you’ve missed most of them.  If you’d like to start at the beginning, you can do that HERE.

Be sure to leave comments as you look because two winners will each receive a package of assorted stamps from the release!  🙂

For my card, I’ve used Eva, new in the Moonlight Whispers line.  Isn’t she something?  Hee, hee.

I pieced her sweater, pants and scarf, then added sparkly eyeshadow with Clear and Baby Blue Spica glitter pens.  Dots of “snow” were added using Star Dust Stickles.  She looks like she just has to be surrounded by sparkles.  🙂

You can find all of the new images here.  Gimme Kimmies Kits are here.   And your next stop along the hop is with Emilie HERE.  (Isn’t it fun when the illustrators participate in the hop?  I think so!)
