When You Wish Upon a Star

Hi everyone.  🙂  I’m back today with this week’s sketch from My Favorite Things.

I very much wanted to straighten that tag.  And slide it over to the right.  But I didn’t.  I behaved and stuck with the sketch.  🙂

This week I’ve used one of our new Pure Innocence characters, Precious Little Lamb Upon a Star.

Using MFT’s “Tag, You’re It!” Die-namics, I die-cut two tags from tablet backing then one from white cardstock.  I stamped, colored and pieced my image, then sponged the edges using Brushed Corduroy Distress ink.  Darkening the edges and “wisping” the color toward the image help blend the white paper with the warmer patterns surrounding it while leaving the image crisp.  All layers were then adhered for a thicker chipboard-ish shape.  I used the same layering technique for the button, using MFT’s Button Quartet Die-namics.

I stamped the sentiment on the inside, along with a silhouette of the little lamb stamped in Brushed Corduroy Distress ink.  The edges were sponged using the same ink.

As on the front, I added strips of Simply Scallops along the bottom.

You can find direct links to DT samples HERE on the MFT blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT Forum in SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 45.)   And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day!
