MFT Previews, Day 1 – I’m Here For You

Welcome to Day 1 of My Favorite Things March release previews!  (Can you believe it’s just about March already?)

Teaser PRIZES begin today so be sure to leave comments as you look around.  You can find direct links to all participating DT HERE.  Each day, two prize vouchers are held by two members of our design team.  You’ll have all week to comment on each of the posts and all winners will be posted on Kim’s blog on Tuesday, March 6th around 7:30pm.

Today we’re previewing Who’s That Girl Puddle Jumper.

I had some bright, cheery paper left over from our JiFFy Challenge and decided it would be put to good use here.  (Plus I had coordinating papers and chipboard flowers from that same line –Pebbles “Fresh Goods.”)  :)

Although I did not paper-piece the coat with patterned paper, I stamped that portion of the image a second time so I could pop up the center just a bit.

For extra shine and a “rubbery” look, I colored over the boots with a clear glaze pen.

I *love* the new Copic BG90.  It’s perfect for a bit darker sky background.

On the inside, I stamped the image, minus the surrounding circle.  :)

Here are the details about the upcoming release:

  • You can attend the New Release Party on March 6th from 8-10 PM EST here in the MFT forum where you can enjoy fun, games and PRIZES!
  • The MFT release, including all new stamp sets and Die-namics, will take place March 6th at 10 p.m. EST. You’ll find all the newest products here at release time.
  • The guest designer contest is ON!  Check out the forum for details on how YOU can win over $200 in stamp sets and Die-namics and play along with the MFT Design Team for a month.

I’ll be back tomorrow with Day 2 of previews!   Thanks for stopping by!

JiFFy Time!

After taking a little break, it’s time once again to get together with my JiFFy friends.  :)  Just as a quick reminder, one of us sends paper to all, then another chooses the image.  We never know what we’re getting until we’ve got it in hand.  Sometimes the combo is a bit tricky, but other times, like today, it’s a nice blend.

It was Amy’s turn to choose the image and she selected Admit One from The Cat’s Pajamas, so graciously sent to us by Alma.  (Thank you, Alma! We truly appreciate your generosity!)  Carole was paper-picker, choosing “Flower Basket” from Pebbles Fresh Goods collection.  LOVE this line!

I decided to take this opportunity to get ahead of the game and make my husband’s anniversary card.  I used the tiny numbers in the stamp set to create our anniversary date (on the ticket).  :)

To add some bulk, I added foam boosters between the layers of the heart and beneath the center of the ticket.

Be sure to stop by the other JiFFy girls’ blogs to see what they’ve created using this same stamp set, paper and ticket die.  I always look forward to seeing for myself!  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I’ll be back soon!

Thank You Beary Much

It’s time for another challenge with Kraftin Kimmie and the Krafty Girls!  This week Pam has a great sketch for us!  I love those as they save me sooo much time.  (For me, that’s the hard part…the layout.)

This week I’ve used another sweet image from Cheryl Alger’s  Lulu and Friends.

sometimes “simple” is best

I decided to take a break from coloring to try a “quick” and “easy” type card.  These don’t come easily to me so “quick” is a relative term.

I’ve used You Move Me  Stamp and Die-namics set from My Favorite Things.  It’s a great set for “quick” and easy!  😉

The layout was borrowed from a recent Paper Crafts call.

I love the little scooter die.  :)

On the inside, I placed my greeting along with a stamped scooter and three little exhaust poofs.

Thanks for stopping by today! I’ll be back soon!  :)

Knit Happens

Hi everyone.  I’m back today with a sketch sample for this week’s Wednesday Stamp Club with My Favorite Things.

This week I’ve used Knit Happens à la modes.  I’m especially interested in all things “knitty” lately as I recently finished my very first scarf!  Just in time for the winter we never had…  :)

I pieced the girl’s top and colored the rest with markers.  I didn’t have quite the right shades of blue-green for her hat and leggings so after coloring with the closest match, I colored over with a warm gray marker.  The larger wooden button atop the biggest Pretty Posies Die-namics flower was also altered with a Copic.  The button was a lighter tan, but after coloring with the marker, it’s a better match… and the wood grain still shows through.

The sentiment was stamped onto one of the tabs from Mini Tabs Foursome Die-namics.

I added a sentiment to the inside as well as a bit of flourish from Finishing Flourishes.  Along the bottom (on the front as well) I placed a Little Open Scallop Strip.

You can find direct links to DT samples HERE on the MFT blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT Forum in SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 60.)   And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day!  :)

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Knit Happens” (à la modes)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Rich Cocoa; Antique Linen Distress    Paper:  The Paper Cut “Hot Fudge”, X-Press It Blending Card, Basic Grey Oxford “Finishing School”   Accessories: Copic markers (E00, E11, E13, E15, E18, E37, E77, E07, E08, E09, G20, G21, G24, BG15, BG18, W00, W1, W3, W5, W7, YG00, YG0000), MFT Pretty Posies and Little Open Scallop Die-namics, Spellbinders Nestabilties, ribbon, Papertrey Ink wood buttons, jute string.   Finished size 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.

MFT VIP New Product Tour — Howdy, Friend

It’s time for the My Favorite Things VIP! The February kit is simply packed with Country Charm!  This month’s Pure Innocence VIP includes Cowboy and Cowgirl stamp sets, Country Charm Sentiments Mini (VIP exclusive stamp set – will never be offered for sale or be available again $9 value, FREE), a gorgeous Royal Rose Die-namics die as well as four adorable Country Charms Die-namics dies.  WAY cute! You can find the new collection (while supplies last) HERE for just $34.90. I decided to take this opportunity to make a sweet friend’s birthday card.  I *know* she’ll love this set.

You can see HERE how I used the entire border around the woodgrain paper.  I love that it’s possible with the new MME papers!  :)

I pieced the dress and vest, leaving the vest unattached at the bottom for a bit of added dimension. I die-cut the Leafy Flourish from kraft and then textured brown cardstock, then used a dark brown marker to add tiny faux stitches to give the flourish a bit more of a country feel.

The rolled Regal Rose was cut from Wild Cherry felt.  Beneath the rose hang two die-cut Country Charms. Also, along the bottom, I placed a die-cut strip of Simply Scallops Medium Die-namics. On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the Country Charms Sentiments Mini set, a silhouette of the cowgirl and added a second strip of Simply Scallops Medium.

This just might be my favorite VIP EVER!  :)

Be sure to check out the links on Kim’s blog to see more samples using these adorable new sets and dies!

KKS February Release Hop & Shop

Welcome to Kraftin Kimmie Stamps‘ February hop! This month we have lots of fun sets and images.  Cheryl has created a second adorable set of Lulu and Friends, we have two fun Tweets and Twitters sets by Emilie Goulet,  six amazing Super Heroes by Annie Rodrigue and last but not least, our new In Stitches set. You’ll see most of the new images throughout the hop but if you just popped in here, you may want to start at the beginning (HERE).

Be sure to leave comments as you look because two winners will each receive a package of assorted stamps from the release!

Today I’ve used multi-tasking Gadget Girl.  She types, she texts, she chats … all at the same time.   I think that’s pretty amazing.  I can’t text two different people simultaneously without mixing up the messages.

This might not be me, but I  know a handful of people this could be.   (Maybe you’re one of them?)  :)

You can find all of this month’s new release images here.  Gimme Kimmies Kits are here.  And your next stop along the hop is with amazingly talented Amy Shefer HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy hopping…and shopping!

KKS Previews, Day 4 — With Enough Caffeine…

It’s Day 4 of previews of Kraftin Kimmie‘s February 19 release.  It’s also Challenge Day.  Since it’s release week, today’s challenge is a sketch, which you can find HERE on the Krafty Blog.  If you’d like to play along, be sure to post a link to your card there on the Krafty Blog for your chance to win the image I’ve used below.  :)

Today the team is sharing samples of Annie’s six new Moonlight Whispers Super Heroes.

This is me.  (kidding)  Here I’ve used Coffee Crusader.  Love her!  :)

After coloring with Copics, I restamped and colored the girl’s arm holding the glorious coffee.  (hee, hee)  I glued the end of her arm to the paper but adhered the cup using a foam booster.

This happy little guy I’ve used today is from Tweets & Twitters 2.  The set consists of three cute bird images plus six sentiments.

My bird was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored, cut out and popped up on foam boosters.  The clear rhinestones were colored using an E08 Copic.
